Lots of facilities and clean
There was no mirror for the bathroom sink that was placed next to the bed...unusual and impractical.
Unfortunately, there were no chairs or a desk. This meant that the room was uncomfortable for work and for eating.
It felt more like an overpriced and EXTREMELY DIRTY Airbnb rather than a real hotel.
The name “David Hotel” was misleading. We expected it to be a regular hotel, but the situation was completely different. First of all, there is no front desk receptionist, and you HAVE TO check in online by uploading a selfie and your ID, and paying a $300 damage deposit in order to receive the access code to the building and the room. I do not feel comfortable or safe having my personal identification information and images collected in this way.
Secondly, EVERY SERVICE COMES WITH AN EXTRA CHARGE. You have to pay for it, and even pay for requesting a clean towel.
What disappointed me the most was the cleanliness. THE CLEANLINESS WAS A DISASTER. The bed sheets, comforter cover, and pillowcases were very dusty, with visible fabric pilling, stains, and human hair. I asked them to provide newly cleaned sheets, but the replacement set had the same issues. The shower towel they provide has lots of stains on it. The shower head was extremely dirty and covered in heavy limescale buildup. The handheld shower also felt grimy to the touch, with a thick layer of residue on the surface.
Additionally, the towels and bed linens felt VERY LOW QUALITY, with a thin and rough texture. They did not feel like hotel-standard linens.
They offered a canvas tote bag in exchange for a five-star review. I did not want to leave an unrealistic review just to receive a free item.
Overall, I would not recommend this place if you are looking for a genuinely clean and properly managed hotel.
Great location, especially for first time visitors. Right in the heart of Old Montreal, it is a very convenient location to check out a cool part of the city and have access to buses and trains which are just a few minute walk away from the hotel. Self check-in was easy enough through the hotel's app and the room was clean and spacious. Beds were also super comfy.
We stayed in Loft 35, where the trash collection was right outside so we heard it every morning which was quite loud. Not a dealbreaker but probably something to note. The layout of the room was very spacious including a whole kitchen, however, the bathroom layout was questionable. The shower and sink were kind of in the middle of the room, which I suppose is a creative choice but functionality was missing. The toilet thankfully was enclosed, however, there was no toilet paper holder?? None of these are dealbreakers but just a heads up.

We stay here every time we visit Montreal. It's spotlessly clean, has all amenities we need, and is a perfect location to wander Old Montreal.
We bring our own coffee setup (carafe and grounds) because what's provided doesn't suit us. Also this last stay fell on a Tuesday morning which is trash collection day, and we were woken with the sound of crashing glass at 6am.

The location was great and the apt very clean. The bed was comfortable and had a great stay.
