My first time staying here, and since I was looking for a hotel with an ethnic and unique design, it truly matched my expectations. I really love the design of the lobby, the room, the library, and the swimming pool. The food is also delicious. Oh, and for Ms. Yasmin, the receptionist who was on duty when I checked in,she was very helpful in answering my questions and offered me a room upgrade at a good price, and Im very happy with the room. Thank you, Ms. Yasmin.
I had an awesome moment spending my birthday staycation at Orient Hotel Jakarta. Definitely will come back again 😊
My stay at The Orient Jakarta was by far the worst I have had at any hotel on any continent.
The staff were inattentive, unhelpful, and at times rude.
The bathroom was a cubicle that looked like a prison cell, with a broken door.
The lights were bare bulbs that would have looked more in place in a warehouse.
The furniture was uncomfortable.
The room layout was unnecessarily inconvenient, such as odd locations for the light switches.
The entrance location is inconvenient to get to and the main doors were not well signposted.
The elevators and corridors felt cramped and were not well lit.
Fortunately I was able to spend as little time as possible in the hotel and still enjoy my trip to the wonderful city of Jakarta, but I do not recommend anyone else stay at this place.
Just like its name, The Orient is truly a ROYAL HIDEAWAY. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the hotel’s ambiance — warm, stylish, and full of character. The thematic design is unlike any other hotel in Jakarta: bold, eclectic, and immersive, yet still incredibly elegant. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated and tells its own story.
The staff were attentive in the best way, and the food was consistently impressive. Everything felt perfectly taken care of.
What amazed us most was how peaceful it felt. Nestled right in the heart of Jl. Sudirman — one of the busiest roads and business districts in Jakarta — yet it didn’t feel like it at all. Once inside, the noise and rush of the city seemed to disappear. It felt hidden, private, and effortlessly calming.
Exactly what we needed: a true escape from the city, but still conveniently within it.
Best interior design, unique. Perfect bed. clean. ok there is a bit of noise from the street. love the design overall
Amazing hotel, wonderful service and super friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again. Roof top pool and bar fabulous.
Had high expectations because, i saw many friends taking pictures, Location is good, hotel seems quite new, sadly didn’t meet my expectation. The Room sound insulation was horrible, wasn’t expecting it from a 5 star hotel, couldnt sleep till 2a.m, i checkin on Saturday night. Was Hoping they have a Sauna, Steam room, cold plunge, but unfortunately none. But service and staff was Good.
Looking for a convenience? this hotel might be suitable for you. Located in a business district of South Jakarta, this place is like a hidden gem to escape briefly from the crowd. It has nice bar and restaurant as well as gym and pool. However, if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with some privacy, then this is not the one. The hotel is not quiet which I could hear the sound of motorcycle from level 27th. There is no direct access from the basement to the room floor, and we have to go through a crowded restaurant and bar to get into the elevator. The deluxe rooms are decorated in a traditional Indonesian style, with colorful wall, and sofa. Because of the lack of space, you need to tilt your head to watch the tv.
We stay during the blackpink concert - got upgrade, really nice. The staff were friendly, the room is nice, the location is really strategic, walking distance for MRT and Bus.
The parking is really hard, need to drive really carefully
Good place with a good view, best hospitality, very kind employee, all the food and beverages have a good taste. Very recommended
Convenience and friendly for family trip, very recommended, definitely will be back again soon.. keep this standard hospitality and even better
From the very first moment, I felt truly welcomed. The staff were incredibly friendly and kind. I would highly recommend this hotel for both leisure and business travelers. Beautiful Indonesian-style interior décor and a lovely swimming pool area with a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options, and the indoor dining was also excellent.
The staff at the front desk were exceptionally friendly, and the bed was remarkably comfortable. The bathroom was also extremely clean, so in loved with the room ambience, definitely will come back for stay .
We are very pleasant to stayed at this hotel for celebrate our wedding anniversary with our baby, not only because of amazing accommodation and facilities, the kindiness and professional of the hotel staff were also very helpful to us. Of course, we would love to stay at this hotel again sometime soon. Hopefully, we can get a good price offer later.
Excellent hotel in the middle of the Jakarta business district Good restaurant and service within relatively easy walking to other dining options.
Fabulous service, food, drinks, spa.
If you want something high quality and a bit different… this is the place for you
Comfy, pretty, wanna stay again next time⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All staff have a good attitude and humble
Located in central of Jakarta
It was a great stay here and really nice room. The ambiance for the pool and rooftop bar is wonderful. Definitely will be back
Arrival & First Impressions :
The hotel’s interior is striking and full of character. While the lobby felt compact and the corridor leading to the bar and restaurant was dimly lit—it opened into a stunning, high-ceilinged space housing Casper, the hotel’s main dining venue. The transition was unexpected but beautifully executed. Just look at the exceptional ceiling.
Dining at Casper:
Upon arrival, we had lunch at Casper and were surprised to find the same menu offered for both lunch and dinner, focused primarily on Spanish tapas with limited variety. Unfortunately, the Nasi Goreng was underwhelming—basic, bland, and lacking vegetables and taste. The tuna salad was similarly uninspired, consisting of iceberg lettuce, a few beans, and canned tuna.
To the hotel’s credit, when we provided feedback, management (Melissa and Sebastian) approached us the following day to share that a new chef had recently joined and menu revisions were underway. While we appreciate the Spanish concept, we believe guests—especially international travellers—would appreciate having Indonesian options available. We look forward to seeing the updated menu.
Breakfast, however, was a highlight. A generous spread of Asian and Western dishes was complemented by excellent coffee (especially the oat milk cappuccino) and delicious traditional Jamu juices. Special thanks to Ms. Maudy and Mrs Citra, whose attentive service remembering our coffee, tea and juice preferences each morning, made a lasting impression.
One design quirk worth noting: the restaurant tables are unusually low, making it difficult to sit comfortably and not being able to get your legs under the table.. We opted for high tables and couch seating.
Pool Areas x 2:
The fifth-floor infinity pool is spacious and well-appointed with lounge beds, but the area lacks sunshine. While some guests may prefer shade, we found it too dim for our taste.
The rooftop pool, by contrast, was exactly what we were seeking: sun-drenched, surrounded by palm trees, with lounge beds, ambient music, and a vibrant bar-restaurant (Cali Café). The atmosphere here was lively yet relaxing. The food was notably better—flavorful Nasi Goreng, garlic prawns, and other dishes—and the service far more attentive. A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Liza and her team, as well as hotel management, for accommodating our request for early access to this space.
Room Experience:
We stayed three nights in a deluxe room and loved the interior design. The true standout was the bed—exceptionally comfortable with plush pillows and high-quality sheets that made for a good night sleep . Slippers were provided, though they were too small (a common issue in Asian hotels). We hope larger sizes will be considered in the future.
Our room on the 26th floor offered a great view. While some traffic noise was audible, it didn’t detract from our experience—it’s a big city, after all.
Fragrance Sensitivity :
The jasmine scent in the lobby and hallways was overpowering and made us feel nausea. Upon raising this with reception, they kindly paused the fragrance spraying on our floor. During our stay it somewhat faded, but was still strongly present, so in our opinion there isn’t a need to add the fragrance that often. We appreciate Mr. Irven in reception responsiveness and we suggest a lighter touch with fragrance in shared spaces.
Spa Treatments:
The spa was serene and beautifully designed. We enjoyed two treatments, and the therapists were professional and skilled. One issue: the massage beds had an added mattress layer that made the face cradle uncomfortably small. We gave the feedback and the therapists removed the top mattress and the experience improved significantly.
Overall Impression
Despite a few areas for improvement, our stay at The Orient Jakarta was memorable. What truly stood out was the proactive and thoughtful response from the staff—especially Melissa and Sebastian—who took our feedback seriously and acted swiftly. That level of care made all the difference. Thank you for a stay filled with warmth, character, and genuine hospitality.
Absolutely perfect hotel , so accommodating and very friendly , I would highly recommend this hotel best hotel I have stayed in
