Buckle Street Studios by Locke, Aldgate

La température de l’eau de la douche était très chaude et difficile à régler, et surtout un problème de chauffage à notre étage nous a fait avoir un peu froid la nuit. L’hôtel a su réagir en nous prêtant un mini radiateur portable.

It was small, its dark, you can barley spot the place and the lighting throughout is awful. Also the microwave didn’t work and they don’t have24 hour support around that so I had to eat my dinner cold.

The room was ridiculously small and poorly laid out, and poorly equipped.

Vorab: die Kritikpunkte sind allesamt als meckern auf hohem Niveau zu betrachten.
Alles sehr eng, für Londoner Verhältnisse dennoch gut. Personal ignoriert einen weitestgehend (kein guten Morgen oder Ähnliches wenn man vorbeigeht). Duschgel war leer, Nachschub musste man selbst an der Rezeption holen. Google chromecast hat nicht funktioniert. Trotz mehrmaliger Reklamation konnte das Problem nicht behoben werden, hatte jedoch aus das Gefühl dass gar nichts versucht wurde. Fairerweise muss ich dazusagen dass mir aufgrund dessen ein zimmerwechsel angeboten wurde (da ich nur noch eine Nacht da war habe ich diesen abgelehnt)

We arrived at the hotel quite late that day and were very tired, so we just wanted to take a quick shower and get some rest. Our room was on the third floor. My husband only showered for about three minutes, but the bathroom floor flooded badly, and the water even reached the entrance of the room.
We immediately reported it to the front desk, and the staff were friendly and helped us move to another room on the fifth floor.
However, the next morning, while we were still sleeping, someone used a key card to open our room door and came in.

I feel very disappointed that such a serious mistake could happen at the hotel. In terms of safety, this made me feel extremely scared and uncomfortable.

Stanza non molto grande e con un rapporto col prezzo non grandioso

The room was maybe smaller than expected, but still lovely!

The fridge was noisy. The gym is in a basement style room and personally as a woman i didn’t feel safe to use it, this needs to be advertiser clearer with pictures.

Also, the test alarm went off on a Thursday morning. I had arrived the night before and wasn’t informed it would go off, customers should be made aware upon arrival verbally in my opinion because my room was flashing lights and i was not expecting this. Instead i was told theres a sign detailing the timing of this.

There was also a very antisocial guy at reception which i didn’t think was good customer service at all. Other staff were friendly.

Listed in ‘facilities’ for my booking was also: a desk, tea/coffee maker,washing machine, tumble dryer. None of these were in my room, i’m guessing these were in shared spaces which is fine but this needs to be advertised clearer.

Personally i don’t think the price was worth it

Basic rooms too small. Accessible or adaptable rooms are much more convenient.

Key didn’t work in the front door to the building, and the room doors let in noise from the lifts and hallway
