Stayed at a lot of hotels on our trip but this one was one of our favorites. The hotel is beautiful the restaurant was great and the bed was so comfortable. Liam made our stay even better. He was so friendly and welcoming and shared the history of the building which was really interesting. He went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Because of the amazing customer service and history of this building we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Debbie was wonderful! Her customer service and hospitality were outstanding! She was happy to help…when I got turned around in the hotel! The hotel was beautiful. Such a unique space! Love the history of the building. I absolutely loved staying there. Hope to come back soon!!!
I really enjoyed staying at The Slate because of its unique character as an old, historic school. The hotel had all the same amenities as your standard mid-level city hotel, but they've really done a nice job of preserving the school building and incorporating the theme in minor ways that don't become too cheesy.
The Teachers Lounge bar was nice and had a relaxing atmosphere.
You are on the edge of downtown, so it's a few blocks to most restaurants or other things you may want to visit. But it's three blocks from 16th Street, which has a free and continuously running bus to get you around downtown.
Hotel is very nice. My room was clean and very comfortable. Bed was super comfortable!
Front desk staff were all very kind and helpful, especially Debbie. Great customer service! I definitely recommend this hotel.
Debbie is a fun spark of joy in the early mornings when we have to leave.
Great atmosphere. Great staff. Debbie was great.
I absolutely loved this hotel…but even better is the staff! They were the sweetest! Very genuine, highly competent and so accommodating! The associate that checked us in on Thursday night was so lovely (and I’m upset with myself that I can’t recall her name) and Liam gave us a great close-out. We will certainly recommend this hotel to our family, friends and business associates.
Convenient location, clean and comfortable room, and friendly staff. The hotel was close to restaurants and attractions, making it easy to get around. Overall, a pleasant stay and good value for the price.
Next-door to the Denver Convention Certer. Great rooms, very confortable. Nice gym (which includes Peloton bikes). Overall, a great stay!
Great location and very friendly staff.
Nothing
It was a quick overnight business trip for me and the Staff at front were very helpful. I had dinner in the restaurant which was very good, service good, I did not have breakfast at the hotel, approx. 10 min from my conference.
No comment really
This the most amazing hotel we have been to on our tour bus. We have stayed in 6 or 7 hotels along our trip and this one is by far the best one. It’s a former elementary school converted into a great hotel. The beds are the best and I had my best night of sleep so far. The showers are also very nice and have a wand to rinse off all over. The people all greet you as you walk through. Great, I mean GREAT hotel.
The atmosphere of a renovated school turned into a hotel was what brought us here to begin with. It sits in a prime location, and was near the venue we were there to visit. The rooms were very nice and had plenty of space. We did not take advantage of "The Teacher's Lounge" bar and grill off the lobby, but we walked by it quite a few times, and it looked very nice. It also had a small 'convenience station' near the lobby where you could purchase snacks that was an excellent addition in my opinion.
Parking. Plan to take advantage of the valet parking they offer. The alternative is public parking that uses paid parking meters during the week (as explained to us by the staff) and if you can find a spot; so that is not ideal. If there were alternatives, we didn't know of them.
The Slate was an amazing experience! From the patio with space for everyone to the delicious meals we had, everything was top notch. Our room was clean and spacious and one of the comfiest hotel beds we've experienced in a long time. We would definitely stay again!
