The check-in staff were very helpful. As we arrived early, Ikram made every effort to look after us and gave us a wonderful room overlooking the front, well before the 3pm check-in time. The outside lobby staff were also very good in getting us taxis promptly. If I go again, without any hesitation will book the same hotel.

Pros:

We had booked a 3 bedroom suite. They had overbooked and downgraded our room when we checked in. This was hugely inconvenient as we were travelling with 2 young kids and our elderly parents. They did nothing to accommodate and no price adjustments to my booking.
We also arrived early and they wouldnt let us take our bags to their washroom to allow us to freshen up with our young kids.
The laundry machine was also not working and our clothes got locked in the machine multiple times.
It was a very unpleasant experience.

This property was a big disappointment and the pictures on the site was very deceptive. They said it was a Waterfront Property, but this was not true at all. You had to cross two streets to get to another property that had water on it, this property has nothing to do with the Doubletree Hotel. The hotel and room had a moldy smell, and the furniture was very dirty and old.

The bellmen were awesome! They took care of my luggage for me quickly and efficiently. And after my check-in was complete, they brought all my bags to my room. It felt great to have such attentive bellmen.

10/10 customer service from staff at the reception desk to the housekeeping team. Cleanliness was not an issue at all as they have a team constantly making sure this is kept to the best standard. A decent range of facilities are available on the lower floors such as their gym and indoor gym. The area facing the waterfront is really nice with short access to a mosque and some restaurants. However the area behind it isn’t as good. Their food is also really good, catering to different cuisines from around the world. They offer room service for the food which is really nice. Would recommend staying here if you want a more quiet stay away from the noise downtown, still being only a 20-40 minute taxi away from anywhere!
