JW Marriott Hotel Guadalajara

My stay at the JW Marriott Guadalajara was exceptional from start to finish, but the true highlight was the Executive Lounge experience.

The level of hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail was outstanding. A special thank you to Carlos Mata, who consistently went above and beyond to ensure every guest felt welcomed and valued. His warm personality, genuine care, and commitment to providing first-class service elevated the entire experience. Whether it was anticipating guests’ needs, offering local recommendations, or simply greeting everyone with a smile, Carlos exemplified what luxury hospitality should be.

The Executive Lounge itself was beautifully maintained, with excellent food and beverage offerings throughout the day, but it was the service that truly set it apart. Carlos made every visit feel personalized and memorable.

JW Marriott Guadalajara is fortunate to have such a dedicated team member representing their brand. I look forward to returning and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Guadalajara. Five stars all around!

Our family visited Guadalajara during the World Cup and stayed at the JW Marriott. Since it was our first time visiting the city, I reached out to the concierge team for assistance with transportation arrangements, restaurant recommendations, and finding an authentic mariachi experience.

Leilani Valencia was exceptionally helpful, professional, and kind throughout our stay. She patiently assisted me with multiple transportation requests and always responded promptly and graciously. Her recommendations were excellent, especially the mariachi experience, which our entire family thoroughly enjoyed and will remember for years to come.

Leilani’s warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived. Thanks to her thoughtful assistance and local expertise, we had a fantastic time exploring Guadalajara and enjoying the World Cup festivities.

I sincerely appreciate all of Leilani’s help and dedication to making our trip special. She is a tremendous asset to the JW Marriott team, and I would highly recommend her assistance to anyone staying at the hotel. Thank you, Leilani, for helping make our family trip such a memorable one!

Breakfast was awesome. Jose Reyes went beyond on his service. Everything was fantastic and clean.

Fantastic. Jose Reyas was fantastic with service.

We just had an excellent comfort dinner: thw chef sent an amuse bouche of refried beans “Monterrey style” spicy and tasty.
The club sandwich was probably the best one we have had.
The best part of the dinner was the excellent service from Pedro, he made sure we felt welcome and pampered,

I really don't leave negative reviews for hotels, especially Marriott properties where I have status. But I was not impressed by the JW Marriott in Guadalajara. I've stayed in other JW Marriott properties around the world and this one doesn't live up to the name in terms of service or amenities.

The good is that I got a room upgrade as an ambassador member. The junior suite was a nice room with comfortable amenities. We were on the lowest floor, but it was still a nice room with great amenities even if the windows did look out onto local traffic.

The bad: when I went to check in at 3:00 PM the room was not ready. They said it would be about 10 minutes for final cleaning and told us to wait in the lounge. The lounge was sparse with only some pretzels in a bowls and canned sodas. We waited an hour before heading back down to the desk and checking again. The room still wasn't ready and so we went to the lobby bar where the disinterested bartender made us some actually stellar margaritas and we killed time for about a half hour until our room was ready. It was another half hour and a phone call to the desk before our bags were brought up.

The lounge breakfast in the AM was a sort of DIY chilaquiles which was OK, but not on the same level as other hotels we stayed at on the same trip. Kinda meh and cold

On top of all of that, we booked with points but they Incorrectly charged us $90 for the room and I am working withy credit card company to get that reversed.

So all in all, it was a fine room, but definitely not a 5 star experience. We stayed our other night in Guadalajara at Casa Habitat and they made us feel like honored guests rather than an inconvenience.

Ate at Agave and Jose was great. Great customer service.

I stayed at the JW Marriott for a work trip, and was very pleased with the hotel - the room was clean and modern. I had dinner at Agave on my first night - delicious steak tacos and wonderful service from Jose!

This place is fantastic! The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming and set a great mood for the meal.
The food was delicious, and I was especially impressed by how many vegan options they offer—there really is plenty to choose from.
The service is truly top-notch and some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Angel, Bryan, and Jose (along with the rest of the team) were extremely attentive, helpful, and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend!

Debate at the agave restaurant for dinner our first night in the hotel. José was our waiter. He did an absolutely great job very courteous very attentive. Couldn’t enough to please us. I would definitely come back if I could get him as a server again.
