Beware!! This property does not align with its online description or pictures. We came into town last night for a romantic getaway and nothing about this hotel is romantic or luxurious. There was no functioning pool, bar or restaurant as the description said on Travelocity. The first room they put us in was dirty. The second room’s ceiling was leaking and the 3rd room had red ants, the air conditioner wasn’t working very well and the bathroom lights didn’t work. The entire hotel was just old and dirty.
When I checked out I voiced my disappointment and asked for a refund. They said I had to call Travelocity. When I called Travelocity they said the hotel. Travelocity called the hotel and the hotel said because I stayed the night they would not refund me. Just plan bad business. I will never recommend this place and will never be back.
Elevator was broke
Pool was being drained so unavailable
contacted the Expedia the day after since we left at 1 am with the problems.
First night was great. Quiet and comfy. Second night didn’t even stay because we watched the front desk employee do a line of coke off the front desk when we walked in. Meanwhile he let a bunch of people party it up in the hallways. Expedia listing said parking was included…it’s not. They charge $10 a night to park. There is no pool. It’s dried up. There is no free breakfast included as stated on the booking. The light fixture in our bathroom was being held up by a toothbrush. Shower barely had any water pressure. Only good thing about this hotel is the location. Please don’t stay here.
There was no parking dedicated to the people staying there. Also, the staff didn’t want to accommodate me on a new room because the room that was given had a leaking ac unit, and the shower had no shower head.
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!! This is my first time writing a BAD review.. Elevator didn’t work and we were on the 3rd floor. The room was dirty. There were dead bugs on the bed and behind the tv on the tv stand. The toilet seat was loose. The bathroom was disgusting. The towels looked dirty. The fire alarm was hanging out of the wall by wires. We addressed the issues at the front desk and they told us they would have someone come by to clean the room, fix the toilet seat, and fix the fire alarm. They were fully booked as well as the rest of the city. They offered to transfer us to another one of their hotels (why would we wanna do that lol), get a discount, or cancel the reservation. We really had no choice but to stay. Next day, we were out all day and came back to change for dinner and the room was still absolutely filthy. I really don’t think they have proper housekeeping. The fire alarm was untouched. But at least the toilet seat got fixed.. The only positive thing was the employees were actually extremely nice which makes it very frustrating when requests didn’t get fulfilled. There’s also no pool and parking was an absolute nightmare.. there’s maybe 5 spots on property.. oh and we never received the discount we were promised.
Horrible hotel. Dirty, run down, broken. Third floor room and elevators were out. Just avoid this place at all costs. Found long black hairs all over our comforter. Seriously, pay a little more for a better place. You’ll be glad you did.
Convenient location
Call me Nev Schulman because I've been catfished. Not only is this property filthy, dodgy and damn near condemned, but the photos posted here are absolutely NOT this property. This wasn't even a "bad for the price" situation; this was something out of a horror movie. Need the elevator? It's been out for over a year. Want to swim in the pool? It's partially drained with an alligator living in it. Want to park your car? You'll pay $10 and not be guaranteed a spot because they don't monitor the parking lot. Want a drink at the bar? It hasn't been operational in what seems like years. Want to open your window for some fresh air? Just brush the mounds of termite wings rotting on the window sill to the side. I can respect the fact the hotel is historic and has some charm, but this was absolutely deplorable and the owners / management should be ashamed to collect payment from unsuspecting people.
The first room the 3 of us were in, yes we had to move rooms, was in the 3rd floor and the elevator did not work so we had to climb stairs. There was no lights in the bathroom, the smoke detector kept chirping and the room smelled bad. We told them about the issues, requested a 3rd set of towels and went to dinner. We got back and nothing was fixed and no towels. I called down and they said they were trying to find someone to fix things. My thoughts was it takes that long to find a battery, towels and some light bulbs? Finally, my friend went down and they decided to change rooms to one on the 2nd floor. We requested a lower level room when the reservation was made and were told there were none available when checking in but somehow, one all of a sudden was available? After lugging our stuff down one level and taking the towels from the first room, the new room smelled funky as well. There was no remote for the ac to control the temp and no other way to do it otherwise. We took the remote from the old room. Trim along the wallpaper on the wall fell off the wall, hitting my friend. The floors were dirty as white socks put on after a shower were dirty from just walking around the room. The shower did not want to shut off and you really had to play with the handle to get it just right. The filet was a challenge in both rooms to flush. The pool was closed for a while apparently as what water was in it was black and weeds growing all around it.
Stayed here before and this place is the pits. Had trouble getting a room in time due to A/C issues. No soap, paper towels in the public restroom. Swimming pool is empty and no longer being used. Elevators are out of service. No bottled water but they have an ice machine...not sure never bothered to check. The whole place is just collapsing before their eyes. Sad place of a hotel.
Overall a fine stay. The bathroom could've been much cleaner and they ran out of parking for pride weekend, but the staff were all very kind and helpful. The checkin was quick and easy and not too expensive.
Wonderful staff. Fun area with plenty to do and walkable for downtown
Really really awful hotel. Do not recommend. Dirty, old, musty- absolutely nothing worked. Not the lights, tv, elevator. There is no pool, no daily housekeeping, no bar, nothing. False advertising. The only saving grace was the staff were extremely kind and the parking fee was waived.
Everyone was kind and helpful and the room was clean. The location to downtown and to the Jannus live venue was perfect. Within a 5 minute walk. They were kind to my emotional support animals and I had free parking right next to the hotel. They said they had just reopened so the couple of things like the elevator not working ( got my steps in) and my shower being cold (was refreshing after dancing all night) were the only downsides. For one night and being a historic location, it was a great stay.😊
it was good. water was funky and it was older but it all makes sense when you think about it
The property has recently been bought by new owners and are not ready for guests. No phone or TV service, which I find is a safety issue. They need time to get things ready for guests.
The owner arranged for me to stay even though they don’t officially re-open until Monday. He is very nice.
