Well kept
Ty was not working in our room
Cleanliness, staff was pleasant
The surprise charges, loud heating system, 40$ parking a day.
The staff was very pleasant. The room was clean. They have a pool table and board games and such in the lobby, which I maybe would have taken advantage of if I had stayed longer
The value just isn't there. For what I paid, I expected more. I paid over $100 per night more than comparable hotels in the area and I don't think it was worth it at all. I feel like I paid for the decor of the room, which was trying hard to be fun and modern but is actually close to being dated. I paid close to $400 per night for a normal sized room with normal amenities. Nothing remarkable whatsoever.
Coffee was good
Very clean, comfortable and spacious room. Laid out well.
More grab and go food options on healthier side.
The lobby and room has a modern vibe. However, the open lift aspect of the room was not my favorite. There was little bathroom privacy— except a barn door. Barn doors are not meant to provide privacy.
When checking in, staff did not explain how we would need to use our key to work the elevator. Neither did they explain that we could order breakfast via our tv. Since we never turned on the tv, we had no idea. Our sink stayed clogged the entire time. Since our room was serviced while there, they should have been aware of the issue. Staff pretty much ignored us anytime we came in or out — no greetings, offer of assistance or recommendations…
Probably the most impersonal hotel experience I’ve ever had in my 52 years.
Location to Amica Mutual Pavilion
I wish they had sit down breakfast
I cannot in good conscience recommend this hotel. I can only think of 2 worse hotel experiences in my lifetime.
Let me start with the fact that I'm writing this from the hotel at midnight when I should be sleeping.
Between the lights that won't turn off, the easy to hear neighbors and the windows that don't muffle any street noise coupled with the barely there mattress.
The room is one step down from a dorm room riddled with extension cords and surge protectors.
One bright spot. The staff is friendly and hospitable.
Pros:
- Great Mexican restaurant in the same building called Yellow Door Taqueria.
- Cool loft design for the rooms, with a curtain separator for the shower/ sink area and a WC room with a sliding door. Very cool and functional when you have a big group.
- Great mini fridge, with a glass door so you can see what’s inside.
Cons:
- Bad check in experience. They have a drop off zone at the front but it might as well not exist because every time we saw it there was no way for a car to get in because the valets just leave these big SUVs in there. We could barely squeeze in to get our bags to the car for checking out by pulling into the bus lane.
- Customer service is disappointing. One day it was raining and I asked for an umbrella. The host said “maybe “ and went to check but then came out shrugging his shoulders like “nope sorry.” So we just hat to go outside and get wet.
- The location is pretty loud. Sirens in the miss of the night. Dumpsters being emptied etc.
- There’s not really a breakfast. They tried to set up a bodega like thing in the lobby so you could order food and pay at the front desk but it doesn’t make sense and nobody explained it in a way we could understand how it would help us. Plus it’s not like there’s a lot of great breakfast options in the block.
-Price is high. It looks like you can get rooms for under $200, but we got a room with two beds and I’d was $250 per night. Not really worth it and seems like the prices change a lot.
Location
Noisy, A loud, large fan outside the window. The fridge was not working took about an hour for someone to fix it.
Location
Empty promises no one knows what’s going on. No food! Focuses on large parties not people and guest
