Staff were extremely friendly
I booked this hotel with the intention of experiencing the wine experience. When I got to the hotel, I was told the restaurant and bar were unavailable on the night I stayed and I was not able to enjoy the food or wine. I was really disappointed. The staff apologized, but I was never given the option to enjoy another food and wine experience at the hotel. I would have liked to have had that option.
The shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor. I almost slipped and fell. I asked the front desk to clean up the water and was told it would be taken care of. I left for dinner and came back an hour later, the water was still all over the bathroom floor.

O que eu achei muito bom foi o restaurante dentro do hotel. Foi excepcional, com serviço impecável.
O hotel não tem nada de especial para ser 5 estrelas, na verdade talvez 4, numa avaliação honesta. As toalhas são de má qualidade. Saí pela manhã e cheguei no quarto as 14:30, nao havia sido arrumado, tive que ligar 2 vezes na recepção para que isso acontecesse.
Chamam uma parede com um santo posto de capela. É só um oratório.
Fantastic service from the moment we stepped through the door. Staff went the extra mile and the little extra upgrades and treats were really appreciated. Beautiful room too.

We were booked for 3 nights. Awful treatment. We stopped in the bar to get 2 glasses of wine on the way to our room after a long day of sightseeing. We had just purchased pastries at the bakery beside the hotel. While we were waiting for our drinks that we ordered we were trying out pastries. 20 minutes later the bartender came and told us that he refused to serve us since we brought food in to the bar. Food. Into the bar. At a hotel that we paid 2000$ for 3 nights. Not a nibble of next day croissant as we waited 20 minutes for 2 glasses of wine AT THE BAR OF THE HOTEL WHERD WE WERE GUESTS!!!! We had 2 croissants that we were barely taste testing !!!! At our own hotel!!!! In our bar!!!!!!! Waiting 20 minutes for 2 glasses of damn wine to take up to OUR room in THE HOTEL WE PAID FOR!!!! Decided wine because we were laughing and nibbling a croissant from a bag?!!!
This is a very classic continental breakfast offering.
I believe the breakfast à la carte menu would be more interesting with more creative options.
We went for our 10 year wedding anniversary and had a very memorable time. The staff were splendid by providing city recommendations, recognizing our anniversary and giving us a room upgrade, and making sure we were comfortable.
The rooms were clean and picturesque, the dining room for breakfast was immaculate, and the hotel was in a really fun area where there were many local restaurants and bars that catered to less of a tourist crowd, which we were drawn to. The architecture and history of the hotel is an attraction on its own.
Definitely recommend and we will definitely stop by again when we visit Portugal.
I want to thank Miguel for trying to correct the mistake Booking made. Booking charged me for a bigger room although they booked the standard one. The staff was very nice about it, accomodating me in a nicer room, even if it wasn't the hotel's fault.
We have stayed here before and it is a special place to spend time in Lisbon. Staff is always friendly and welcoming.
The cupboard space in the bedroom is only sufficient for one person. If you want to spend more than two days in the hotel, and you are two persons, most of your clothing will have to stay in a suitcase.
Well maintained historical property. Helpful and welcoming staff.
