Cosy, convenient and aesthetically pleasing
Pros:

It was very spacious and clean. We loved the restaurant connected!

Cons:

The lighting in the room was very poor. We had to all take turns in the bathroom to do simple things like hair or make up or wait for the sun to come up to get light which was very inconvenient.

Really nice hotel with plenty of parking and nice staff
Pros:

Comfortable beds and linens and pillows. Plenty of TV channels to choose from. Nice lighting. Very clean, updated and modern decor.

Cons:

Front desk personnel dressed EXTREMELY casually (sweatshirts felt really weird for a professional hotel in the upper mid-range). Low water pressure.

The room was really well sized, the bed was comfy and it was completely dark at night. The use of technology in the room was a nice touch.

Cons:

The location is a bit weird, it's in the Ikea carpark (great for a big Ikea shopping day!)

Stuck in New Haven during a snowstorm...wonderful find!
Pros:

The very environmentally friendly rooms really made me happy. I loved the bamboo or wooden room keys, the water kettle, and the steeping coffee bags. I also loved that the restaurant in the hotel had wonderful local foods, and that their entire menu had plenty of gluten free as well as vegan options. The staff, especially the front desk and Andrew and my other waitress at the restaurant, were wonderful. I got stuck in New Haven for two nights due to some car issues and a snowstorm, and Hotel Marcel was the perfect place to relax. Parking was really easy. The building may look intense with its brutalist design, but the inside is so beautiful.

Cons:

I wish that there was an easier way to utilize the lights in the room. It would have been nice to have an option to hit just the overhead lights, or one or two lights. But I liked that the lights were all the most energy efficient. It was just something new to get used to.

It was a great stay in a ‘famous’ local building!
Pros:

The room was very comfortable and there were great views of the City.

Cons:

Not being to turn off/on individual lights. Having all or nothing with the shades. It would be nice to open/close shades-especially in a corner room.

Love the hotel, will be my number one choice!
Pros:

Location was great, room was very nice, no windows so couldn’t see out, but overall very clean, friendly staff and service was excellent
