Edmund is the best ever! More than just helpful!
Very clean, has all the essentials. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I stayed for one night and was checking out on the day of Vardavar - crazy water festival in Yerevan, when it’s impossible to stay dry during the day.
I left my backpack in the storage room until the evening. And the receptionist reminded me to be careful on the streets and to keep a change of dry clothes on my return which I really appreciated.
When I returned, they even gave me a dry towel so I could dry off and change clothes before heading to the airport :)
In my room there was only a small window that faced corridor which I didn’t notice while booking. So that window was always closed and there was no natural light in the room. For one night it’s not crucial but in case I had to stay there during the day, it wouldn’t be convenient
quiet hotel with a small pool at the basement and sauna
suite was with a small sitting area not really a different room , for Yerevan i wouldnot say this was a value for money choise .
Thats very good
My review of this hotel, The Phoenix Boutique Hotel, is so-so. The only redeeming quality is the English proficiency of the front desk staff. The mediocre experience is that outside the room window is the hallway. This interior window offers no sound insulation whatsoever. Late arrivals or returners were loud and boisterous. They woke me up at 1 a.m. and I couldn't fall back asleep for a long time. Other unpleasant aspect stems partly from the fact (not hotel’s fault) that the city's tourism industry needs improvement. In the city, I couldn't get any cell phone signal that is promised by T-Mobile and available in almost every country, making it impossible to call Yandex Go service. The taxis didn't have navigation, the driver didn’t know where the hotel is, finding the hotel took double time. Location-wise, this hotel is good, you can walk to the three major attractions in 15 minutes: Republic Square, Cascade and National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
Location and comfort
The staff was looking to scam us to pay in cash (USD/Euro). Looking to charge us for leaving the bags for couple of hours.
My room was clean and thoughtfully designed and equipped: comfortable bed, electric kettle, cups and glasses, tea and coffee, lots of good towels, etc. Very good location, lots of restaurants and small stores around. Seemed like a mixed residential/ commercial neighborhood. Was able to walk everywhere.
The hotel occupies one floor of an old building. It has been thoroughly renovated, but occasionally it can smell a bit dank. Not enough to be a problem though.
