Beautiful hotel, staff and food.
Had the best massage ever by Thelma and Sizan, such happy delightful people. A great venue right on the Zambezi River.
The Palm River Hotel is wonderfully located on the Zambezi River In Zimbabwe. It is a super great facility. Every room faces the Zambezi. Victoria Falls is a ten minute taxi ride away.
The breakfasts and the dinner that we enjoyed at the hotel were quite satisfying. Service was very friendly, fast and efficient.
Our room was large, well appointed and laid out.
The staff in the activities center and front desk were very helpful and pleasant.
The only small drawback was that the pool could use a little more attention during the course of the day.
This was a much more enjoyable experience than we expected. Situated by the river we saw lots of wildlife. The hotel was very comfortable, the food was great and the staff charming, enthusiastic and helpful.
Beware of mosquitos.
Unimaginable beauty! The resort, including the room, the grounds, the restaurant, all the staff were beyond amazing!!! 10 stars couldn’t even describe it.
Lovely hotel with gardens onto the Zambezi river.
Very expensive though & pool poor. Rooms overlook the river & tastefully decorated. Efficient shuttle service to the entrance to Victoria Falls. Breakfast selection & menu is really good.
Great place right on the Zambezi River. In the morning or evening you might have elephants walk by, or monkeyed or pumas.
Kuda was our waiter and was terrific. He went over and beyond our every request. The food was great and an elephant entertained !
The hotel is an amazingly idyllic location, but convenient to town and the Falls. It has a particularly fine restaurant for both breakfast and dinner. Altogether, a lovely place to stay.
The pool was fabulous! We missed the elephants, but the hippos in the evening ---- amazing!
Lovely Hotel, excellent food, great setting. Animals seen roaming in the grounds behind electrified fence. Zambezi River at bottom of Hotel.
The Palm River Hotel was our final stay in a three week trip across three countries. The focus here was to see the Victoria Falls a short drive away and spectacular. The hotel was immaculate and all staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was perfectly situated on the ground floor with sliding glass doors to a private small terrace giving immediate access to the pool and gardens overlooking the Zambezi River. The food was delicious, an excellent breakfast buffet and dinner taken on the dining terrace on our first night. We would recommend too the breakfast cruise from the hotel which was a fabulous end to our holiday a knowledgeable friendly guide with many sightings of birds and animals along the way. Thank you to all at Palm River Hotel
This hotel is based around a colonial style house and is set beside the Zambezi River.
The accommodation is of an excellent standard, as is the food. All the hotel staff are friendly and efficient and definitely enhance the stay.
The best thing about the hotel is the abundance of wildlife and game that can wander and climb around the hotel, both inside and outside (impala and monkeys inside) and elephants and warthog outside the protective fence.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in the area.
I recently took a group to Vic Falls and stayed at this great hotel. I was pleasantly surprised, it is beautifully decorated, the location is perfect and so tranquil. We even had elephants just wander through, Past the pool area. The food was great and the pricing was good too. I can highly recommend this property.
Highly recommended ,enjoyed the spacious rooms, the breakfast ,the Zambezi river view and the customer service was excellent
The hotel has a lovely setting by the river and is visited by passing warthogs and elephants. The swimming pool area is lovely and this was a pleasant place to unwind after a busy week's travelling.
It feels a bit impersonal and corporate, most people only spend 1 or 2 nights there on a tour. Having said that, Lynn on reception was utterly brilliant, solving several problems including tracking down missing luggage.
Food was just about OK (evening fish dish was superb), but wine was poorly kept and served too warm. We sent one bottle back as it was tasteless but the staff totally failed to understand why.
Our room had an interconnecting door to the adjacent room and we could hear their conversation even though they were only talking at normal levels.
Modern hotel with good amenities but some significant problems.
It's all a bit brash, light on style, think Florida. Popular with shouty southern hemisphere tourists doing safari day trips.
Considering the usual hot and sunny climate that prevails, the architects have done a miserable job of providing shade on the river-facing side of the building. You will also find yourself moving the loungers around if you want to avoid being cooked whilst gazing across the Zambezi.
The blackout curtains on the patio doors in our room were completely undermined by the basic sun blinds on the side window.
Many rooms are adjoining/ connected by twin sliding doors and the lack of sound proofing is appalling. Our next door guests were a cougher and a snorer respectively; worse still, we knew they were getting up at 7am because their electronic gizmo was talking to them.
Food is good and varied; drinks selection is priced ok but a relatively limited choice. The wine list is also uninformative; we had to send a bottle back and had trouble conveying the problem to the duty manager.
The staff are overwhelmingly cheerful and helpful but their efforts need to be better coordinated at busy times.
Not a cheap hotel, but worth every penny. It was excellent in every way. Location is good. Free shuttle bus to Victoria Falls. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Service was excellent. Would stay here again.Able to visit Victoria Falls, and cross the border into Zambia for a game drive to see white rhinos.
Le lieu, les chambres, le restaurant, le calme et le luxe de cet endroit magnifique. Le personnel est très professionnel et sympathique.
Il faudrait juste un peu plus d’attention au restaurant.
