Excellent property with terrific rooftop patio and pool that is actually decent for lapswimming early mornings! Apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious with modern vibe. Super convenient to SCU and Cal Train.
It’s really nice area and safe
The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. The gym and pool amenities were excellent and the coffee shop downstairs was perfect for getting the day started.
Check-in overly complicated
The initial check-in is not your typical process but overall it was a great stay. Nice & clean place with an excellent rooftop pool, gym & play areas. The dog park & amenities for your fur friends is superb!
A few things that would help it feel less confusing upon arrival is the name. Kasa at Benton will be much easier to find vs Kasa University-Airport.
Also, there's 2 options to entering.
1- Park in guest space inside the Garage, located in center of the building. Take the elevator up get aquated with you space, grab your guest card then move your car to your assigned space.
OR
2- Drive up the garage (found in center of building) & use your callbox access code to enter the gate, find your parking space then go to your room. You'll use your access code for the elevator & to enter in & out of any areas but it's much easier using the card in your room.
It is basically a virtual stay, equipped with basic essentials & the reps texting are friendly & responsive. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Overall a wonderful family stay. Will be re-booking again.
This could have been a lovely experience as the apartment was for the most part clean and bright and nicely furnished. The roof terrace and pool were delightful.
There was a fault with the shower unit which was fixed quite quickly but other issues, as has been noted by other reviewers, were dealt with by robotic, unhelpful people (or chatbots). The patio and furniture were filthy; the kitchen very poorly stocked with minimal cutlery, chipped crockery, and poor quality equipment.
There is a ludicrously over complicated door entry system and with only one guest key card provided (despite requesting one each) it made for complicated logistics. I twice rescued others who were similarly struggling this rendering the very security it sought to address null and void.
The worst aspect was an incessantly barking dog next door which woke us and kept us awake. The useless Kasa people refused to help and passed the buck to the Benton management team who run the block; the rude Benton woman the next morning said it was nothing to do with her and didn’t even express sympathy. There was dog mess on the adjacent patio which attracted flies. Horrid!
With some re-staffing, a well-stocked kitchen, and a review of the entry system this could have been a much better stay.
This place is very nice and clean. The rooftop pool is great. Just as others commented, there are codes to remember and the pull out couch is not meant to be slept on. It’s all springs. I booked a place that is supposed to sleep four. I put my two kids on the floor on mats. The sleeper sofa is terrible. The apartment is really nice.
To be clear this is not a hotel but basically a sublease of apartments. So there is no onsite support should you have issues like we had. You enter and leave through the parking garage and need to enter a 7 digit code 4 different times to get into parking, the elevator, the floor etc as well as another door code for the apartment. Our key card did not work and the support staff were not able to fix this after we waited for them to come recode our key card ( they never came despite telling us they would).
So we just parked on the street and dealt with the tedious entry of multiply codes.
The apt was fine but if you need to use the pull out couch it is very uncomfortable so be warned. The mattress is thin and the metal springs are very prominent . It was not made up and the sheets in the closet were wet ( yes, folded and put away wet). We just dried them in the dryer before putting them on the pullout bed.
So overall, I would not recommend the Kasa University-airport. It is close to the SCU campus but I’d rather be a little further away and not have to deal with the lack of support and multiple codes.
Really liked this property. The check-in process was a little complicated, but once we navigated that, we had a lovely stay. Would definitely come back.
Very convenient, large unit, clean, quiet, really easy self check in and out.
It was good
Confusing to access. The key card was not working for a bit, including parking. Communication was slow.
When you think an "Airport" location, you think busy area with rows of chain hotels and restaurants. This was a beautiful location! The unit was clean, comfortable and the building amenities (roof top pool and weightroom) remind me of the Peninsula (only hundreds less per night). Walk through Santa Clara University is like going to a park.
The place is great, but it took over an hour to check in and my senior citizen father and mother had to take pictures of themselves (front and side), give them a picture of their license (front and back) and needed a lanyard to open doors and go down the elevator. Also, they were on hold for a long time and the assistance in checking in was not organized. This process needs to be tightened up.
The check in process is the worst. It’s complete self check in, with too many steps, too many combination locks to go thru. The whole process is a turnoff from what is otherwise a nice place
Absolutely loved staying at this place! The best amenities/location/value! 8 min from the airport. And the coffee shop downstairs was a cherry on the top. The best service too - responsive and super helpful. Highly recommend, will come again.
I thought I was booking a hotel room, but it was the cleanest little one bedroom condo/apartment/dorm. Nicely decorated, super comfortable bed, full kitchen, washer and dryer. It had all the amenities of home. It was so clean, you’d think you were the first to stay there. Didn’t get pics of the room, but did of my boojee latte from the cute little coffee place downstairs ☺️
We definitely enjoyed our stay with Kasa at the Benton apartments in Santa clara. The location is awesome, the pet friendly facilities are amazing, the apartment was spacious and very well arranged. We received just the help that we needed from the virtual front desk. Whenever we called. We will definitely be staying again.
Hard to locate but was helped by a person inside another business. Finally figured out where to park and where to enter unit. Not sure I would book another virtual type unit
This place is probably better if you want to stay more than one night and are here for leisure. There is no concierge or front desk so all parking, entry and access are done through a series of very detailed instructions. Since I was here for a work trip, I didn't have the bandwidth to deal with this- I was swayed by the price and the inclusion of a balcony but didn't use it due to my incredibly short stay (less than 12 hours!).
However the place is very clean and spacious. It felt good to have my car parked in a secure area. The rooms and the flow of the space was nice. I would recommend if you're staying here for longer or if you REALLY don't want to interact with anyone, but I am just more used to a traditional hotel setting and appreciate that after what I just went through.
