I should have known once the sever joked about us haviWhile the property itself is beautiful there are issues it seems everyone is aware of but have no interest in resolving. I went during crabfest 2025. They were aware their generators could not support the property yet they had it fully booked and I experience 7 blackouts in 2 hours. Btw the electricity controls the toilet and showers. So no light, toilet or shower for 4 hours. They didn’t fix my toilet for 12 hours . I have a 8 year old. Pee and poop sitting in heat for hours . I’ll let you imagine. Instead of coming to our room with even a sliver of hospitality, myself and 4 other guests had to find them. When I advised about the toilet issue - one of the property managers offered to bring a bucket of water to my room. Then they refuse to refund me for the days I was not there. Previous to this they did not communicate about needing a 2nd boat trip

Told me that my room was under a different name and still argrued with me after i showed them my itenerary. Gave us the wrong room which led to more argruements. We went to northside, and when we came back to the hotel. There was animal turd on our bed

I loved the seclusion, the hospitality of the staff and the amazing food and drinks at the restaurant/bar.

We had such a wonderful time at El Ben! It was our first visit, and we're already dreaming of returning. The hotel itself is adorable, but the true highlight was the incredible staff. From the moment we arrived until we checked out, they were consistently helpful, kind, and always available. What really impressed us was how they greeted us by name immediately – it made us feel so welcome, like regulars! The food at the restaurant was also a standout; we enjoyed the most delicious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout our entire stay. The bartenders were equally friendly and always happy to see us. A huge thank you to the entire El Ben team, especially the manager, receptionists, captain, chef, and bartenders. You truly made our trip unforgettable! We can't wait to come back soon.

This property was accessible and affordable. The location was very intimate. The scenery was beautiful. I will definitely be back with a longer visit.

Very quiet, romantic, staff was friendly and attentive. Food in restaurant was probably some of the best I had while in Belize. Would definitely come back.

We stayed at EL Ben Cabanas for 3 nights. The Cabana was very nice, clean and very comfortable. The staff there were excellent and very helpful. Travelers should be aware that access to a beach at the resort is non-existent. This is mostly due to the volume of sea grass on the east side of the island. The sea grass also gives off an unpleasant odor as it gets hot during the day. Luckily the pool was a great way to cool off. The restaurant at the resort was quite nice. We mainly ate breakfast there and explored the island for other meals. We did use a couple of the resort bikes and rode to Bliss Beach on the west side of the island, which was beautiful. No sea grass and soft sandy beach. You can buy a drink or two and hang out on the lounge chairs or cool off in the beautiful clear water. El Ben Cabanas offers a boat ride to the south side of the island where the quaint little village is. We spent quite a bit of time walking around checking out the shops and variety of food establishments. We definitely recommend Reyna's restaurant for amazing Jerk Chicken.

They claim that they provide transportation to split, but it is very limited to specific times and you have to pay to cover ferry. It is inconvenient place with limited amenities. The safe was not working in room. The hotel smells at night

Beautiful property with a hiking trail around the property, clean pool, delicious food and friendly staff

We had a great time and they were very accommodating and friendly. We liked being on the quieter north island but it was really easy to get to the South Island between their boat shuttle and a golf cart ride to the ferry.

El Ben is a beautiful resort. The staff is so nice and friendly. They make it easy to get to the other side of the caye. The breakfast is delicious! Definitely get the Belizean breakfast!

Our cabana was nice, but the air conditioner could not keep up with the heat. Our first night we sweat through the night and slept on top of the covers. The next morning they looked at the AC and said it was frozen over and had been repaired. 8 hours later - still the same situation. They changed us to a smaller room that was more like a hotel style and the room was much cooler. Restaurant had great food and service. We really enjoyed the nearby beach ($5BZD) too!

One other note. The pool bar opened up one day when we were the only ones there. The music was blasted so loud for no reason. I tried to order drinks and the bartender couldn't even hear me without yelling. We asked him to turn it down and it went from a 10 to an 8. We finally gave up an left. A few hours later though it was at a more reasonable level, but the pool bar should be for the guest's enjoyment...not the employees.

No beach area, no place to put the kayaks. Not enough beach chairs around the pool. Dining was good, and dining staff were very friendly as were housekeeping and the boat captain
