Very Good Stay, But not Memorable
Pros:

The room was a good size and very clean. The bed was comfortable. Most of what I found was what I expected. The location to where my function was was across the road - awesome!

Cons:

Overall, I had no complaints. Though it was 4 Stars, I felt that the price was quite steep for Murchison. There was not much else wrong. Maybe a few (more) Sky Channels

Gorgeous property & interesting small town.
Pros:

I guess if I'm honest, I didn't actually expect a great deal given this is a small town but I was pleasantly surprised to find the accommodation was quite exceptional! The small town vibe is just perfect - the pub & Rivers cafe are both friendly gathering places & our dad, as always, got chatting to other patrons. The shop assistants are all friendly & good for a laugh & banter - with some surprisingly great shopping finds! Beautiful scenery - loved our time (though less than 24 hours) in Murchison even though we were pretty full on the whole time (getting in the sightseeing options - Maruia Waterfall & Buller Gorge Swingbridge etc).

Cons:

Unfortunately, I am still a smoker & while I am completely happy to go off accommodation property to smoke, I would really prefer if they provided an ashtray (or at least some receptacle to put smoke butts in). My sister & I picked up our butts & disposed of them in bins elsewhere but I suspect other guests may not be so considerate. If you provide an ashtray/container at the property edge though, I would think other smokers would use it to keep the streets clean & tidy.
