Avoid this place at all costs!! Their rooms are full of mold and bad odor and will give you headaches and potential respiratory issues. Rooms are dirty and not cleaned in only God knows how long. you will find dirty paper towels with bunch of dust on it , toilet papers too and all areas are very dirty. They changed my room after I complained ( and maintenance guy came and confirmed ) that room is having horrible mold smell but 2nd room was moldy too so in the middle of my vacation i had to search for another place to stay. Manager on the reception ( guy with glasses ) said that “Expedia is sometimes saying like they gave us a call but they don’t “ , in free translation they are putting ball in Expedia court because they will take your money ( like they took mine ) and will not provide refund even though issue is in terrible condition of their smelly, dirty, moldy rooms. I left before using my remaining 4 nights and before i left i was told at the reception that “everything is settled with Expedia “. When i left i contacted Expedia about my refund and they said Mare Condo is not responding on their calls or emails. Free translation, when you walk out they will take your money and forget about your refund. Don’t be fooled by pictures on website as reality is totally opposite. Neighborhood is noisy with people talking loudly till late morning hours and lots of stray dogs on the street. Overall avoid this place at any cost, these guys should be closed.

We stayed at Mare condos for a week, and we enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect for us as it was a more residential area, but still only a 15 min walk to the beach and 5 mins to the more commercial areas like 5th ave. The hotel has a very nice rooftop pool area that we used a lot. The apartment itself was a good size, had a kitchen where you can prepare meals, lots of closet space, and it has a washing machine, which is a huge plus on vacation. We were here in the low season and had no problems with loud music or noisy nights, which some of the reviews have stated.

The only downside we could find is that they did not clean the room on the day they said they would, but that could also easily be a misunderstanding on our part. We solved it by emptying our own trash and bought toilet paper at the supermarket, so it wasn’t really a big problem.

The staff was very accommodating and helpful, special thanks to the manager George, and receptionists Josephine and Lucas. Overall a very good stay that could honestly recommend to others.

The room was spacious and had a full kitchen. AC worked well and hot water too!
The rooftop pool area is rather small with little shade area. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Walking distance to a few restaurants and convenience stores. Dogs barking at night and loud music from neighboring buildings so bring earplugs. Decent stay for the price.

The property although very clean felt a little run down the sofa had cigarette burns and the furniture had noticeable nicks. Overall the building its self needs upkeep for the price they are asking for in low season and in the start of a recession.

Where their strengths are in the excellent customer service the staff provides and there hotel like service. Seamless friendly and easy customer care.

Staff was super feiendly and i would really like to stay here again . And yes i got my 200 usd deposit cash back . I was stressed due to others reviews . I should have just not read them and created my own experiance and relaxed more . Pool was lovley ...it broke down one day and the elavator was under repairs for a few hours but maitanced repaired quickly . I cheered ¡¡¡ pool Patio didnt have patio umbrellas but got some after 8 days i had been there . It was quit lovley once the nice sand color umbrellas arrived , priority mail . Thank goodness¡¡ i was getting severly solar burn by that time . If u like a softer bed u will need a foam . And extra pillows , which i was fortunate to grab up a few extras from a join room... shhhh ¡¡¡ anyhow its a ok location a bit skethy at night because its further from 5th ave and 10 th ave but i managed . Loved having the gourmet kitchen island my son enjoyed cooking all week . Those dogs need to take there bedtime medication lol they were so disruptive . Neibours have like 5 or 7 so excessive . I turn on washroom light middle of night 2 pee and they see reflection and bark and if i fluch toliet they bark they hear everything . i was mid floors of hotel ,meaning i was higher leval . But still dogs would go crazy barking symphony all night . Hotel was very luxurious compared to the surounding artifacts and resteraunts . Thankyou for a nice getaway was recovering from surgery . I feel so much better .

Aboiement a 5 hr le matin! Terrible!.....

This property is a little older but everything was in really good condition. The front desk staff was fantastic, always polite and helpful. We were able to easily walk to Avenida 5th which is the main tourist area in the area, but the entire city was easy to navigate and walk.
The rooftop pool was a nice treat and there were a number of spots to relax up there.

A little noisy from other people of an evening especially from the adjoining room. Dogs barking but that can’t be helped.
Rooftop pool is really nice, but could do with a more regular cleaning.
We had the smallest room, other people had much larger rooms for less money.
Location is good for the beach and the front desk are very friendly and always there to help.
Incidentally after paying for an express taxi from the airport because reception was supposed to close at 8:00pm, we found out that there was someone there till 11:00pm.

They left me stranded when I refused to give them my passport or the cash they demanded as a deposit. I offered my credit card, but they wouldn’t accept it.

Also, their management refused to talk to Expedia or me to explain their policy. STAY AWAY!

Stayed at Mare Condo Vacacional in Playa del Carmen during the start of my solo trip as a quadriplegic traveler. I booked a one-bedroom suite, which said to come with a full kitchen which the only thing it was missing was an oven, a beautiful wraparound balcony, and a great central location just a short distance from 5th ave, with restaurants, and nightlife.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which I appreciated. The suite itself was clean and spacious, and overall it had a nice, modern feel. However, there were some downsides that made the stay less ideal for someone in a wheelchair.

The biggest issue was the bathroom—not accessible for someone with mobility limitations. Also, with the one bedroom the noise at night was quite noticeable, seemed like the seal on the massive windows weren’t great, barking dogs through out the night still noticeable with all doors and windows closed. I also didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop (and forgot to film it for my review!), but it looked nice from what I saw.

If you don’t require full accessibility, this might be a solid option. But for wheelchair users, I’d recommend staying somewhere else like the second place I stayed, which was the Hyatt centric downtown house.

Especially if you’re in a manual wheelchair, it’s a very steep ramp to get in the front lobby🙂

For a budget alternative I am still happy with my stay. And if they fixed the noise and the bathroom, I would definitely stay again.
