Modern friendly good value

The bar closed at 11 when it was full and another 40 people came in after the function at the Rugby club. There were a lot of disappointed customers and a loss of custom. This is the third time I have stayed and experienced this.
Liked the hotel it was all good quality etc..and the staff we very obliging.
Most importantly is how you sleep !!!For a hotel of that quality the bedding was just crumpled because it was a little short and the pillows were old used and lumpy so I feel that was a big let down we had poor sleep .
Replace the pillows regularly would be my advice.

The hotel is as you would expect a 4 star reated property to be and is certainly on the top end of that catergory. The rooms are very quiet and the ambiance is of a well organised, efficient setup. Very friendly and helpful staff in all departments. Having hot drink making facilities is always a plus point for us. The very comfortable large bed gave us a perfect base for a good sleep and not having to check out until 1200 was another factor in deciding to stay there. The quality of the bar meals we had was very good, with quick service from the statf members involved.
The quantity of the tea and coffee making products was very limited and we had to go to reception to request additional supplies, there was only enough milk for 1 cup. As we were on the 7th floor that was a bit of a trek, although we could have contacted reception who would have organised a delivery with houskeeping, if we wanted to wait, which I'm sure would not have been long. The main restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening.
My daughter booked an overnight stay as a treat for Mothers Day. It was perfect. We enjoyed drinks, snacks and the magnificent view from the roof top bar, which was mainly quiet, and an excellent breakfast with similar view. The beds were comfortable and the facilities clean.
No complaints although as we checked out on Sunday morning the Reception area had a smell of the lavatories!
Very nice interconnecting rooms as we stayed as a family of 5. We enjoyed dinner at the view restaurant. The staff in the bar and restaurant were very accommodating and hospitable
Great location, modern and bright hotel. Lovely food in bar. Clean and comfy rooms.
No bottled water provided in the room. Had to ask on both days for little milks for my room as they had not been provided.
Breakfast was great and the location is perfect for exploring this part of Devon and only 30 minutes to the coast.
No room service.
