Ontbijt is wat weinig voor zo'n luxe / duur hotel.
Everything was amazing. Only improvement needed is the breakfast. Not very good at all.
The breakfast was mid.
Modern design but very comfortable
Nothing to dislike
Direct parking in front of the hotel. Location wise nearby to a few malls all within 15 min drive. Room was really spacious. The bathroom fittings were all beautiful and of quality. Very clean hotel and beds were also very comfortable. Hotel slightly more expensive compared to the others in the area but it was worth the comfort we had.
The breakfast spread was not very impressive so not worth it in my opinion. The scrambled eggs that the chef made was beautiful though.
Our upgraded room was great, spacious and with a very good bed. The restaurant is very good and has the most extensive and amazing winelist we've seen in a long time.
I really liked how thoughtful everything felt — the space was clean, cozy, and not too overwhelming, which made it so easy to just settle in with the kids. The design is simple but aesthetic, very calming after a long day out.
Not much to complain about, but I do wish there was room service for convenience—especially when you just want to stay in and rest with the kids. A swimming pool would’ve been nice too. But at the same time, we got a room with a bathtub which my kids absolutely loved, so that made up for it.
Wonderful deco design. Very comfortable bed. Absolutely love the bath and shower! Jojo restaurant staff were so welcoming and friendly.

Slightly further way from the main resturant area then expected but not a big problem.
LUMA Hotel, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
I stayed at LUMA Hotel Kota Kinabalu from 15 to 17 April 2026, and had a thoroughly pleasant experience.
This boutique hotel offers tastefully designed rooms that are both comfortable and well-appointed with all essential amenities. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the air-conditioning operated silently and efficiently—contributing to a very restful stay. The warm colour scheme further enhanced the inviting atmosphere.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its people. From the moment you arrive, you are warmly greeted by the reception staff—consistently courteous, attentive, and always smiling throughout the day. The General Manager, Mr. Gordon Seet, was personally present in the lobby to welcome guests, which added a thoughtful and personal touch.
The bell service team was equally impressive. Whether arriving or departing, they went beyond routine duties, offering assistance with genuine care. Upon my departure, Johnny from the bell service was particularly helpful—assisting with my luggage and thoughtfully coordinating my pick-up vehicle while I attended a meeting before heading to the airport.
The standout strength of this boutique hotel lies in its employees, whose attentiveness and commitment to customer service elevate the entire experience.
Well done, Sabahans!
Excellent. Very clean and friendly staff
Hotel room was clean and very classy. Hotel staff were nice and welcoming
The window is facing another apartment and there was no view
None.
Hotel is expensive but service is dismal. Breakfast suppose to start at 6am but even till 7am,coffee not ready. We book a triple room but amenities were for 2 and I have to ask more extra. This is not Marriot hotel standard and at almost $200sgd per night,it's like a daylight robbery. Never will I stay in Marriot Hotels anymore.
