Beautiful views from the hotel.

Our stay at WelcomHeritage Elysium Resort & Spa from 24th April 2026 to 26th April 2026 was unfortunately far from pleasant.

We were allotted two rooms, 2002 and 2003. The most serious issue was with room 2003, where the bathroom had an extremely foul and persistent smell. It made using the bathroom very uncomfortable. Despite efforts by one of the staff members, Kamlesh, the issue could not be resolved. It appeared to be a deeper plumbing problem—possibly incorrect piping connections or drainage issues. Instead of fixing the root cause, the hotel provided us with a room freshener, which we had to use every single time before entering the bathroom. This is clearly not an acceptable solution for a property claiming premium standards.

Another major drawback is the design and layout of the hotel. The property feels like a closed box with no provision for open seating areas. Not even a single outdoor seating arrangement is available. This is highly disappointing, especially in a destination like Shimla, where guests specifically come to enjoy the pleasant weather and natural surroundings. Being confined indoors defeats the purpose of visiting such a hill station.

There were also several shortcomings in basic hospitality standards. The toiletries provided were inadequate—for instance, only one dental kit, one soap, and one pair of slippers were provided for a room occupied by two guests. While we managed because we carried our own essentials, such cost-cutting measures are unacceptable for a hotel that positions itself in the 4/5-star category. The hotel should consider providing proper amenities, including liquid soap dispensers for better hygiene and convenience.

The restaurant experience was also uncomfortable. The air conditioning was not turned on, making the environment hot and unpleasant, especially during meal times. This again reflects a strange and guest-unfriendly cost-cutting approach.

That said, the only redeeming aspect of our stay was the service provided by certain staff members. Mr. Tanuj and Mr. Kamal were exceptionally courteous and attentive, both in-room service and in the restaurant. Their professionalism and positive attitude stood out. Additionally, the staff member handling car parking and assistance at the entrance was very polite and helpful.

While the general behavior of the rest of the staff was acceptable, it could not compensate for the major issues we faced—especially the foul smell in the bathroom, which significantly spoiled our holiday experience.

Overall, this property does not live up to the standards expected from a reputed chain like WelcomHeritage. It is surprising that such a prestigious brand is associated with a hotel of this level.

We are giving 2 stars, purely because of the excellent service by Mr. Tanuj and Mr. Kamal, along with the courteous parking staff.

This was likely our first and last visit to this property.

The stay was comfortable and fun! Cozy rooms and good views!

Quite and good location. Atmosphere is so serene and unforgettable. Staffs are the best and food great and loved the buffets in the mornings. My room is the best I have ever had so far, clean and staffs are attentive when called for any service. I thought it was the best value for money and best treat for me and my husband.

Having a good time in the hotel and services are really good , staff are really supportive!!

Excellent guest service-Right from Front Office team, the F&B and Kitchen staff- Housekeeping were very obliging and prompt in fulfilling requests. Everyone greeted us with a smile and a Namaste. Felt very welcome and warm- Keep up the excellent work. Your General Manager should be extremely proud of each one of the team members.

Amazing food, one of the best properties in shimla.

Breakfast was good

A wonderful stay that’s honestly hard to fault. The location (and the view) was fantastic, and the staff made all the difference — special thanks to Shubham, Arjun, and the front desk team, along with the restaurant, housekeeping, and support staff, all of whom were warm and helpful throughout. The breakfast spread was great as well and really added to the experience.

If I come back, I wouldn’t think twice about staying here again. Highly recommend!

Very good rooms with amazing Mountain views. The staff is the best, very cooperative. The food is also really good! Will definitely recommend!

Very nice rooms with good sized bathrooms. Kind and friendly hotel staff that helped us around the hotel. Great breakfast and dinner options for vegetarians. Very clean property.

Everyone and everything at hotel is super mice, warm and cozy.. highly recommend the place to everyone looking for experiencing Shimla in comfort.
