The room above had people stomping around all night.

We were charged to park our car in an outdoor, uncovered parking lot-nor was this mentioned in the listing expenses, the hotel was not full but our room was located on the side next to a noisy highway instead of facing the more open, natural, less developed side. The cleaner left a dirty cleaning rag on the bathroom sink vanity, and a face towel was stained with blood. The trash can in the breakfast area near the coffee station was overflowing by the time we got downstairs at 7 am with no one around to clean it up.
The location was great. I did not like that I had to pay for parking but I understand, the need for it because the hotel was located in downtown Durham, NC. The entire hotel was CLEAN! I was very comfortable and had no anxiety falling asleep. I staff was very professional and nice, every night I came in from work, the front desk said, "Welcome Back." The cleanliness, friendliness and breakfast was great.
The breakfast was ok. Clean, not many options considering the cost of the stay. The water fountain by the gym did not look safe to drink as the filter status remained red for the 3 nights and fours days I stayed indicating the filter needed to be changed. Therefor I had to obtain water form outside the hotel.

HVAC system was very loud--sounded like a jet taking off in the room every time it clicked on. Traffic noise was bad despite the fact that our room was on the third floor. Hair not belonging to us was in the shower. We unexpectedly had to pay $6 to park in the Tru lot.

I felt at home with the design and furniture. I also loved the snack and drink access and your choice of coffee brand.

Paid parking,. Its not much but it is not really a walkable area. If this extra $6 is important to the hotel. Just add it to the rate. It was odd to me to pay for parking for a standard alone hotel where the use of a vehicle is essential
