Good location, room was spacious enough. Staff were responsive to delivering more milk when asked.
The bar closed before 9.30 on a Friday night
Great location and very comfortable.
Parking cost
Staff were helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable, shower was excellent.
I didn’t like the daybed/sofa stuck in the corner, it made opening and closing the curtains difficult. The fridge was very small and didn’t have a freezer compartment. No microwave. The most disappointing part would have been the buffet breakfast, the seating was totally inadequate for the size and standard of the hotel. The food was not worth the $38. price tag. Very uncomfortable sitting so close to other people while trying to enjoy your meal, it felt very rushed because people were standing around waiting for your table.. No fault of the staff though. Would give the buffet a miss.
Facilities were fine
Hotel charged me $100 over the advertised rate at check-in, apparently as a deposit. This was never advertised anywhere. At check-out they did not immediately refund the $100, saying it will be refunded within 5 working days, despite my repeated request. I do not appreciate my money being used by the hotel as it is unwarranted.
No privacy in the rooms due to adjacent residential buildings
Cleanliness, friendly staff
Several mistakes on billing, not great value for money,
Overall nice, comfortable and quiet.
Car park was full, so we had to find off site parking.
Sliding doors for ensuite are not very good.
Breakfast was good and what I expected. Room was comfortable and quiet.
The location was a bit out of the way for a solo female business traveler. I was worried that the hotel was going to be loud being next to a fire hall but it was surprisingly quiet.
Ok staff.. ok services
Worst location ever.. reaching to any prime location was extremely far.
Room heater did not work for all 3 nights and 4 days. Staff was called and he said just use the cooler on 24 degrees because geater does not work. This was very inconvenient in winter and 2 very young kids.
This hotel is situated in a quiet corner of the Melbourne CBD. It's next to the Flagstaff Gardens, though not quite next next to it but within 5 min walk having to cross a major road. We loved it cos the location was very quiet. However, the room was really quite small, very narrow in fact. Take a look at the photo uploaded. Other than that, this is a really good hotel to stay, with a standard we expect of Marriot. The toilet was superb, with really nice toiletries. The beds were also superbly comfortable. I think this was the best hotel we stayed in for our 28-day road trip in Australia (Brisbane to Adelaide). The buffet breakfast in the morning - what can I say - it was fantastic, really good variety, freshly prepared and tasted oh so good! We had 3 lovely breakfasts with our 3 nights' stay and let's just say it was worth every penny.
I originally booked another hotel in Bourke Street but moved here due to uncertain parking availability. Well, I certainly didn't expect the kind of tight parking here. It was really impossible for two cars to pass, so narrow and tight was the basement car park. And so tight that this is the first car park I have ever parked in that had traffic lights to control the movement of vehicles. If possible, I would bave preferred to park outside in any of the spaces along the street or at the open-air car park in front of the hotel. I drove a Hyundai Tucson and it was already very difficult to move in and out. I can't imagine how anyone driving a larger vehicle can manage. There are very few parking spaces, and it was a bit of lottery as to whether you could get a space or not. The car park's door lifted vertically like a garage door while the entry was so narrow, it was impossible to position the car close enough to the received to tap the card you got from the hotel to get in and out. I had to get out of the car to open the garade door, then quickly get in and back the car out a bit so that the door doesn't hit the front of the car. Very awkward to say the least. Please find a better way to do this.
