ONLY THE LOCATION IS GOOD.
I am an Accor member and had made my stay booking at Novotel Hotel Chandigarh from April 20th-22nd. This booking was made on April 16th. I wrote separately to the hotel's reception confirming my booking and requesting for a preferred room no. They Acknowledged telling me that my requested has been noted. On April 19th, i checked-in online at the hotel and again requested for the preferred room. Again my request was acknowledged and i was told that it has been noted. However, on April 20th - upon my arrival at the hotel the person at the reception draw a blank face with no concern whatsoever. I was coldly informed that my preferred room was allocated to someone else the same morning. Note- My card was already blocked for payment by the hotel, i had already checked in a day in advance yet the room was given away - which means effectively there is NO FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis NOR are REQUESTS TO THE HOTEL OF ANY VALUE TO THEM!
Was EXTREMELY Disappointed and am PRETTY SURE that the people it was given to has not even requested for it. In case they had - it should have been informed to me. VERY VERY Callous and poorly trained staff at the reception!
Separately, the breakfast buffet is quite bad - both in terms of quality and service. Definitely NOT even a 3 star! Food at the restuarant is also low key despite high price. My mother had breakfast at the buffet and signed off on the bill (as is always done for payment at the reception upon check-out in all star hotels when you are staying there) - a restaurant boy followed her to our room with the same signed off bill and card payment machine asking us to pay up now! It was quite hillarious and stupid at the same time!! NEVER in ANY COUNTRY have i ever seen this sort of behaviour!!!
