24 hrs before check in, there was a transaction on my credit card.
Since I wasn't expecting, I reported the matter to credit card company.
They informed me that it's from Novotel.
At check in, I was informed it was a blocking transaction which will be released at check out and payment.

My question- why do you do that? Why online check in if u still hv to verify everything.

The check out experience - the lady at the check out seemed slightly lost - and instead of being straight forward in acknowledging the delay in getting our luggage down , tried to play smart by saying “ I HAD RAISED IN THE SYSTEM , BUT DUE TO HEAVY OPERATIONAL RUSH “ it is taking time.

Before going for break fast - I left the key with her at the front desk requesting that by the time we finish breakfast please have our bags brought down ( 2 bags and a basket ) and keep our check out invoice ready. Came down after 40 minutes
Bags not coming is OK, it can happen - BUT TO JUSTIFY AND TELL THE CLIENT” I HAD PUT IN THE SYSTEM “ is a disaster in an otherwise brilliant property.
Where the quality of human resource is way above the Industry average. From the door man, to the servers at the restaurant - everyone seemed to enjoy their job and appeared SOO INVESTED.
Special mention to a young female server who was present at dinner and then for breakfast again - heartening to see young executives paying so much attention to each clients demands , and giving a thought out and timely answer to all of them.
Unfortunately I didn’t ask her name. But def a great asset to the organisation.
