Great location with friendly staff and good facilities
Pros:

Lyf is a really great base for visiting Melbourne. Collingwood is a lovely suburb with lots of restaurants and cafes and it's easy to jump on a tram into the CBD.
The hotel itself has everything you need for a city break. The staff were friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and modern. It's basically a hotel with the conveniences of a hostel such as a shared kitchen and laundry.
I was working in Melbourne and had paid for a co-working space but I needn't have as the lobby had desks with plugs and areas to take private calls.

Cons:

It's not a negative as such but I had a King room which was roomy for one person but the bed is against the window so if two people were in the room, one person would have to climb over the other to get out of bed - worth noting for older people or people with disabilities. The bathroom walls are also opaque.
