The worst 5 star hotel I have ever been in my life
Pros:

Stuff is very friendly

Cons:

Hair in the bathtub , every single faucet was broken , I wanted to take a bath but i couldn’t. I requested an iron 30 minutes later I called back , sure enough they forgot about it. I had a meeting at 6.30pm at the restaurant, I got my iron 6.28pm, finally. I was late , because I was waiting for my iron 45 minutes. Next day cleaning lady showed up with no fresh towels , she said we ran out of them. But after giving her tips she brought me couple fresh towels but no fresh robe , hotel is packed and no enough fresh towels for every room. Seriously?

Pros:

The room was beautiful, modern, clean and very welcoming. All the essentials were provided in the room.
Service and cleanliness were very good as well.

Cons:

The breakfast was the only thing that brings the rating down in my view. The place looks like a coffee shop (as oppose to a 5 star hotel restaurant) the menu is ok and service just about ok. The quality of food not bad at all, in one case quantity was astonishingly small and the way it was served was not miserable as well.

Should've and could've been a 5 Star
Pros:

Should've and could've been a 5 start experience. But the AC had a really high pitch squeak that the maintenance guy was trying to gaslight me that it is normal for the AC to squeak. For almost $2,000 a night, peace and quiet is expected. I showed the front desk manager the video and he figured out a room move for me. not bad but I wish I was not gaslighted. Still have the video but won't let me post videos.

Stylish Property, But Service Falls Far Short of Ritz-Carlton Standards
Pros:

After two nights at the Ritz-Carlton NoMad, I’m left with very mixed feelings. The hotel is stylish, offers a chic bar scene, and a great location but the service simply doesn’t live up to the Ritz-Carlton name or the price point.
Employees have not been explicitly rude, but the tone is consistently flat, transactional, and lacking in warmth, initiative, or genuine hospitality. It’s far from the “ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen” standard that the brand is known for.

The bright spots have been Tarek, the house car driver who is a gem and embodies Ritz-Carlton service; Kevin and Derek, the bellmen; a third bellman (name beginning with A) who noticed I wasn’t feeling well and kindly brought me ginger ale upon arrival; and Paris, the Rooftop GM, who graciously allowed us up for a birthday photo, a wonderful gesture. The rooftop, by the way, is stunning and worth the hype.

Service Misses: Check-in was indifferent. There was no Titanium recognition, no property overview, and no mention of amenities like the rooftop, house car, or the Chandon toast despite interacting with two separate agents and sharing that it was our first stay at the property. Had Kevin not filled me in later, I would have known nothing about what the hotel offers.

When our room wasn’t ready, Kevin kindly offered that my daughter and her friend could freshen up in the spa. Unfortunately, the spa attendant made us feel distinctly unwelcome. The girls, polite 14-year-olds who had just flown a cross country red-eye from Seattle were in the spa briefly to change before heading out. An hour later, after I’d explained I was feeling car sick and was resting quietly in the lounge, the attendant woke me up (my eyes were closed she still felt compelled to address the girls with me…) to question where the girls were and to inform me they must remain in the same room as me. They had been gone for over an hour. Her tone was awkward and unnecessarily intrusive. There were no other spa guests, no disruption, and we were there at the invitation of hotel staff yet her demeanor made the experience uncomfortable and lacking basic empathy/customer service/common sense.

I booked the stay same-day, en route from JFK, using Marriott Bonvoy points (150K per night) for my daughter’s 14th birthday trip. My intent was to use Suite Night Upgrades to make it special, but I realized after booking that same-day reservations are ineligible. I politely asked about any available upgrades, but despite multiple upgraded rooms being available online and Titanium status I was told there were none available and nothing the hotel could offer. I understand hotel upgrades are not guaranteed but working for an NYC based Fortune 100 company known for over delivering on customer service, I of course hoped the Ritz could help me have a cool mom moment and blow the girls minds with some kind of upgrade.

After confirming I would not lose the 400K+ points, I asked the check in agent to adjust my reservation to one night to preserve the option of booking the next three nights separately, in hopes of using Suite Night Upgrades once the 24-hour window passed. Ultimately, after the lackluster first day, I decided to play it by ear and keep the flexibility to change hotels (we’ve had excellent service in past stays at the Ritz-Carlton Central Park and JW Essex House). However, since this is my daughter’s birthday trip despite property shortcomings she asked that we not lose sightseeing time by moving hotels. As the person shelling out half a million points I had to spend $$$ to earn for mediocre service- that is a bitter pill to swallow but its her birthday and I want it to be nice for her. I would consider giving the property another try but the substandard level of service and lack of housekeeping and basic services it is absolutely not worth the over 500K points these 4 nights will have cost me in the end. If it were up to me alone, I would leave today instead of wasting a luxury amount of points on what I now know is not a luxury experience.

Room & Housekeeping:
Our room (1511) was clean and well-appointed upon arrival, but the HVAC system emits constant noise and the water never gets hot, only lukewarm noticeable even to 14 year old girls. For a property charging $2,500 per night (or the equivalent in points), basic comfort, basic housekeeping services and hot water should not be an issue.

After our first day out sightseeing, we returned 12 hours later at 11:30 p.m. to find our room had not been serviced trashes not emptied, dishes untouched, no fresh towels or water bottles. I messaged to request housekeeping and was told it was unavailable, though towels could be sent up and the agent I was chatting with offered to me that a manager would reach out to me tomorrow (today) to address the significant fail of the room not being serviced when staff had 12 hours to do so. Two hours later, still no towels. The girls waited up as long as they could for towels so they could shower after 12 hours of walking NYC but eventually fell asleep. I waited up but eventually showered at 2:30am when I couldn’t stay up any longer and dried off with a hand towel. Towels were outside our door the next morning, but management never followed up as promised.

The following day (today), our room key was deactivated, despite confirming a 4 p.m. late checkout the day prior. Waiting in line to have it reactivated, I overheard another guest complaining that a female employee was “very rude.” The night before, I had also overheard guests in the lobby bar discussing how underwhelming the service was, reinforcing that our experience was not an anomaly.

Overall Service Culture: Across interactions, the theme has been “Sorry, nothing we can do,” when a true luxury property should embody a “Yes, we’ll find a way” mentality. As someone who works in customer service and sales for a brand (company) known for service excellence similar to the level of service expected at the Ritz, the lack of initiative and basic hospitality is glaring.

Room Notes:
• Room 1511: noisy HVAC and lukewarm water
• Comfortable beds and decent soundproofing despite city noise (in fact there was a toddler crying in the room next to ours as I entered my room and once the door was shut I could not hear the crying at all- good soundproofing).

Pros:
• Elegant design and prime location
• Stylish, lively bar and rooftop
• Excellent service from bell staff and Tarek (house car driver)

Cons:
• Indifferent, “no-based” service culture
• Poor communication and lack of warmth at front desk
• Un-serviced room with no follow-up
• Maintenance issues (HVAC and water temperature)
• Unpleasant spa interaction
• Red wine, cabernet is served freezing cold to the point 2 hours after paying for a $40 glass of cab it was still too cold to drink. I have been to many chic European resorts that serve chilled red wine and its expected in tropical locations Hawaii etc. it was absolutely mis-managed here. I even requested a non-freezing glass and asked if they had any other bottles that had not been iced (there was frost on the bottle) and was told sorry that’s all they had. A waste of $40.

Final Thoughts:
The Ritz-Carlton NoMad has all the right elements design, style, and location but the service falls far short of what guests expect at this tier. It’s disheartening to spend 150K points per night (equivalent to $2,500) to be treated like a second-tier guest because the stay was booked with points. I can’t say that is explicitly why the service is lacking however it seems to be a factor based on the tone of my interactions with staff and the unwillingness to make any extra effort.

The brand’s promise should guarantee a consistent level of hospitality, regardless of how the stay is paid for. With better leadership and a focus on genuine guest care, this property could be exceptional. For now, it has been seriously underwhelming from a service standpoint.

At the time of this review its 3:30pm I have yet to hear from anyone about the room not being serviced nor has housekeeping serviced the room today (it has not been serviced since we checked in Friday morning, its Sunday afternoon).

The Most Amazing Stay — The Ritz-Carlton NoMad Sets the Bar High!
Pros:

We just got back from an incredible stay at The Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad, and wow and it was everything we hoped for and more!

First off, the rooms are gorgeous. Modern, super comfortable, and the views are unreal, we could see the Manhattan skyline right from our bed. Watching the city light up at night felt like something out of a movie.

The location couldn’t be better and right in NoMad, close to the Flatiron Building, Madison Square Park, and so many great restaurants and shops. It was so easy to get everywhere, but the hotel itself felt like a calm, luxurious retreat from the city buzz.

We also loved the restaurant and rooftop bar. The food was delicious and the drinks at the rooftop (Nubeluz) were next-level, especially with those 360° views of the city. Definitely a must-visit even if you’re not staying there.

But honestly, what made this trip unforgettable was the people. The service was beyond anything we’ve ever experienced. From the moment we walked in, everyone made us feel so welcome and it’s proof that when people say New Yorkers aren’t friendly, they’ve clearly never stayed at The Ritz!

Huge shoutout to Paulina at the front desk, who was so kind and made us feel at home right away. Michael helped us pick the perfect restaurant for dinner (it ended up being one of our best meals of the trip), and Joy set us up with awesome recommendations for everything else. Stephanie greeted us so warmly every time we passed through the lobby and left us the sweetest note in our room...by the end of our trip, it honestly felt like we were leaving friends behind.

The whole team just went above and beyond for us in every way.

Other little things we loved: the spa is beautiful, the gym is great, and the overall vibe of the hotel, modern but still cozy, makes it feel really special. Everything from the design to the scent in the lobby feels thoughtful and luxurious.

There are a ton of great hotels in NYC, but this one truly stands out. We didn’t want to leave, and we’re already planning our next stay. If you want an amazing view, great food, and the warmest welcome in New York, The Ritz-Carlton NoMad is the place to be.

Good people & view
Pros:

I stayed at the Ritz for 1 day because I had a work event in the area on a Sunday morning. The location of my event was moved at the last minute and my family was joining me there so I scrambled to get an early check in at the crack of dawn on a Sunday in the center of NYC. Rebecca at the front desk worked tirelessly for an hour and amazingly found something (there were a ton of moving pieces). Another staff member, I believe Devon, who wasn’t assigned to me even came over to help…it felt like I had my own team. The room itself had a breathtaking view of the skyline that we all got to enjoy. Jean even reached out to me on my trip home to ensure that the whole process went smoothly. One thing I’d suggest is for a little less AI technology over the instant messaging service on the app before talking to a person. This applies to me because I like to use this service on the app, so the issue may not be relevant to others. Oh, and Rebecca sent a handwritten card with cookies for my 2 kids hoping everything worked out. The cookies were gone in seconds.

Unforgettable Stay with Stunning City Views
Pros:

My stay at the Ritz-Carlton was flawless from start to finish. The cityscape view from my room was breathtaking—day or night, the skyline felt like a moving piece of art right outside my window. The room was elegantly designed, spacious, and comfortable, reflecting true luxury.

The highlight beyond the view was the hotel bar. Not only were the cocktails crafted to perfection, but the performative presentation made each drink feel like an experience in itself. From smoke-filled domes to creative garnishes and dramatic pours, the artistry at the bar was as impressive as the taste. It’s more than just having a drink—it’s a performance worth savoring.

Every staff interaction was warm and thoughtful, and the service throughout the hotel was impeccable. The Ritz-Carlton truly combines comfort, sophistication, and memorable moments. I can’t wait to return.

A Truly Exceptional Stay at the Ritz-Carlton Nomad Club Level
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Ritz-Carlton Nomad this past weekend with our son. The Liberty Club Suite we stayed in was spacious and comfortable with a stunning view, but the real highlight of our visit was the Club Lounge. While the food and ambience there was excellent, it was the staff who made the experience unforgettable. David, who oversaw the lounge, along with Juan, Brenda, Maria, and Wendy, made us feel incredibly welcome and went out of their way to make our son feel special; something we’ll always remember. For the adults, the spa area with its sauna and steam room was also a real treat. From start to finish, the team truly rolled out the red carpet for us, and it’s the warmth and professionalism of the Club Lounge staff that makes this hotel stand out as world-class.

My go-to hotel in NYC!!!
Pros:

This is my 3rd stay at the Ritz-Carlton New York, NoMad this year! It is my go-to hotel whenever I come to New York City - feels like I'm coming home. I love the location - it's got a subway station right by the hotel, walking distance to Madison Square Park and close to lots of good cafes, restaurants and bars. The hotel is very modern, and the rooms are very clean well-appointed. Would like to give a special shoutout to the front desk team, especially Jillian (or Gillian, not sure if I'm spelling this right) - who I first met in January 2024, and Paulina - they are always such a pleasure to talk to! I also had a very delightful housekeeper on my floor this trip, her name is Yan. Will definitely be coming back here on my next trip to New York City!!!

Outstanding Club Lounge and Suite
Pros:

Enjoyed a recent four night stay at the Nomad Ritz. Was able to book three nights with credit card free night certificates and paid for a fourth night with club lounge access. Had to recheck in each day since each night was a separate booking. Only the last night we were upgraded to a Madison suite with a suite night certificate. The standard room on the 14th floor was fine. No view to speak of. The Madison suite on the 33rd floor was amazing. Could see the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building among other sights. Club lounge offerings were superior to those at the Central Park property. And unlike some properties guests may pour their own wine and liquor. We met David, the lounge manager, and were really impressed with his passion for the operation and guests’ happiness. One guest was lent a guitar for his stay from a staffer.

I was not contacted by the property prior to my stay like I usually am at other Ritz Carltons. We found almost all of the front desk staff helpful. Nubeluz and Zaytinya were superior experiences. Make reservations for the former far in advance of visiting. Zaytinya had plenty of tasty vegetarian options. The Nomad will be our new holiday tradition in New York. Like that we can walk from the LIRR to the property with minimal effort.

Location, Rooftop views and great service!
Pros:

We were in the City for 5 days to celebrate my birthday with friends. We could not have felt more welcomed and taken care of. The front desk and doormen really seem to enjoy their job.

The location is amazing. Nubeluz has unbelievable views and cocktails. RW line is steps away. Plenty of awesome restaurants, coffee and bagel shops near by.

Thank you so much for helping us celebrate!

Beyond Expectations
Pros:

Wow! Just wow…Let me start by saying this is my 9th Ritz Carlton and became my number one after this stay. From the moment I reached out to the concierge about our friend anniversary(I’m very extra haha), they worked flawlessly to make arrangements and special surprises a reality. Before checking in, I upgraded the stay to club level and wow…I’ve been to multiple RC clubs and this hands down has to be one of the best! Quick breakdown of the highlights below:

Pre-Arrival correspondence:

Flawless. No notes. Every email was answered promptly, professionally, and with real warmth. The RC “can-do” attitude really shinned in all aspects from booking dinner, room amenities, preferences, and answering all questions.

Staff:

BLOWN AWAY! Every person I interacted with before and during(Quennie/Valentina/Trevor/Stephanie/All the Lounge Staff…the list is endless) made my friend Lindsay and I feel so special. Even room service knew it was our friend anniversary when I ordered my favorite, late night chicken tenders! I told Quennie before checking out this has become my number one RC!

Rooms/Decor:

Sexy. Cool. Sleek. So Clean. We were upgraded via NUA to the Madison level and holy f*ck…the room was unreal! I’ve attached photos of the bathroom tub that would make Meredith Marks(Real Housewicss of SLC want to move in ASAP.) I can see why many call this building home. When can I move in!?

Club:

Full transparency - It’s not cheap. BUT - The value is unmatched. The service, food offerings(hello, Jose Andres), top chef liquor, wine, and VIEWS. I would do it all over again.

Fitness Center: Medium sized but very clean with Peloton bikes and water for days.

Elevators: LIGHTENING fast. You barely wait and they whisk you right up to the floor.

From service, staff, food, and overall experience…this even beats RC Central Park. When I come back in December, this will be the hotel I stay at again. Thank you thank you thank you RC Nomad for making this stay so special :-)
