Very Historic stay in Downtown location
Pros:

The room was really nice and very spacious. The historic aspect of the hotel was very nice. It was nice to see how they incorporated new aspects into the property while keeping the Integrity of the History in place. People were very nice and helpful at the front desk and in Housekeeping. We were able to walk next door to the city market and visit some store like Orvis and Mast General store which we a very short walk. We visited the Texas Tavern which was just down the street and was featured in southern living recently as a top Hamburger spot. Overall, an Extremely nice location

We used AI to discover a Gem
Pros:

My wife and I were on an extended vacation driving from Alabama through the east, northeast, Canada and Cape Cod. At the end of the trip, I ventured to experiment with AI to plot our way home, asking for three equal days of driving and interesting and luxury hotels. One of the recommendation was the The Liberty Hotel in Roanoke which promised a restored bank complete with Vault in the Restaurant and scenic views of the surrounding area. I booked a deluxe king size room with view at a very reasonable rate and was informed to contact the front desk for parking arrangements. I was concerned about a downtown Hotel location in an unfamiliar town but the 15 minute parking in front of the lobby was great to unload and get sorted. The receptionist was super nice and gave us a wonderful room. The parking is off site for a slight fee but a comfortable walk. Our room was quite spacious, with a luxurious bathroom and an entire wall of windows with great views of the city and mountains, The young lady tending bar was quite friendly and introduced us to some new drinks including one made with homemade Tomato water which all of us loved. I can't say enough about this Hotel and its nice staff. We truly wished that we could have stayed longer.

Old Charm with Modern Rooms in the Center of it All
Pros:

We were back in Roanoke for a concert and wanted to stay in downtown near the Berglund Center. The Liberty Trust was perfect and offered that unique charm we look for when we can. Parking is nearby at Center in the Square and we walked to dinner next to The Market and then walked to Berglund Center for the concert. The older building has charm while the rooms are as modern as you'd expect. I wish we could have experienced The Vault restaurant on the first floor, but our trip was a quick one. We'll be back for our next trip to Roanoke!

Great stay
Pros:

Came for a conference at HR and stayed here. Super close and convenient walk, took just a couple minutes over the pedestrian bridge. Everything about the hotel was top notch, from the comfy bed to the products in the shower- new obsession! The bathroom was huge and everything was very updated. I wish there was a workout room, or even a pool, but for a business stay it is perfect and I just did my workout by walking the block and taking the stairs as much as possible. Roanoke is a gem!

We would stay there again, when in Roanoke!
Pros:

The rooms were clean and big, the lobby area was nice. Location was great.

Cons:

We lucked out and were able to use street parking while we were there, in front of the hotel, but I can see how parking in a garage off site would be problematic.

Pros:

Cool old bank converted into hotel

Cons:

Mission across the street attracts homeless and the sleep on street and are up late hours fighting to get in the building or kicked out. Train station nearby. Not a very quite area. You have to pay for coffee in the morning. Should have complimentary coffee for all who stay and at least a pastry.

Best little boutique hotel!
Pros:

The location was great and easy to get to from the major routes. The food was good with what we thought were large portions.

The rooms were very clean and very spacious and QUIET; considering where we came from in Nashville, TN it was very noisy.

Also, the converted building into a boutique hotel reminded us A LOT of Europe.

This place is definitely worth the stay!!!

Beware: Raised rate after confirmation
Pros:

We booked a stay with our pet, per the hotel’s instructions. The website instructs to call, and we did. We spoke with reservations, booked a pet room, and received a confirmation.

Later, the hotel e-mailed to say they had made a mistake with the rate, and were increasing the charge by nearly $100 to account for the pet.

I’ve never had a hotel retroactively raise the price after issuing a confirmation. Even acknowledging the error was theirs, the hotel insisted we pay the higher rate. We requested - and thankfully received - a refund.

Mistakes happen. Holding customers responsible for them is a choice. That choice reflects poorly on a business whose reputation depends on hospitality.

Thanks for the really good stay
Pros:

The location of the hotel was very convenient as it was close food establishments and close to the interstate. The room was very clean ,neat and roomy. The bathroom had a modern flair to it. The large portioned food was very good as we had dinner and breakfast there. It was interesting having a vault in the common area as the hotel is a form bank building. I would highly recommend the stay here as the value was excellent.
