Great Stay in Blackstone
Pros:

One must rate the Inn at Blackstone on a bit of a curve since it's the only show in town, but it is a very good choice for your stay in the area. The hotel is fresh and clean, just like the rooms, which are also spacious and comfortable. I slept beautifully in the giant bed. The kitchenette is legit, so if you are staying here for several nights, you can hit up a local grocery store and eat in, if you are so inclined.

This place is remarkable. The drive was worth every headache of driving 7 hours with kids lol. Beautiful property, the
Pros:

It was very historical. Just walking around the property and seeing all the old buildings from when it was an all girl college in the 1920s was really cool

Cons:

The pool had no water and we had young kids which it was something they wanted to do.

Cons:

The pool was out of service

I expected warm and good variety of foods for our breakfast.
They just provided a bagged breakfast. A banana, a granola bar, a tiny bite size muffin and a bottle of water.

Trush wasn’t cleaned up…
Kitchen- Not enough utensils for family of four. (only 3folks etc…)

Lovely getaway! Beautiful history!
Pros:

We had a funeral to attend in Crewe VA and were looking for a place to spend one night.
What a delightful surprise! Our choices were very limited. We had little notice and few options. We found this and felt so grateful.
The history of the building was so intriguing. The staff was extremely knowledgeable about all of the details.
When we spotted the Bea Arthur suite really made me start googling more history.
The room was small but comfortable and had a refrigerator, microwave, comfy bed. The bathroom was large and shower was perfect.
The television was large and new. Great spot to rest during a very difficult time.
The grounds and attention to detail added a charm that was delightfully.

Overall, it was a good experience & we'd probably stay again if needed.
Pros:

We stayed here last minute with 4 kids due to a home mold remediation with a very short window of notice & needed to be within an hour of home for sports + a "kitchen" to reduce costs in that aspect.

The breakfast was just like any other hotel. Average, but adequate. The breakfast seating was great though! We loved the outdoor area. At night, we enjoyed the fireplace. During the day, there were board games, Frisbee in the "yard", a grill that we didn't get around to utilizing. The swimming pool is indoors. The larger suites are comfortable with a regular fridge and cooktop counter stove with basic dishes. Staff was friendly.

There were some issues with the rates. A newer staff member had done things incorrectly, the $2 per night wasn't disclosed, and I was running into availability mismatched price inconsistencies when extending to a third night. The staff member who helped address the challenges was very kind and thorough in ensuring everything was done correctly in the end!

Cons:

Booking.com does not include or disclose a $2 per night fee tacked on upon arrival. When we first arrived, we had to relocate rooms due what looked like a mouse had been a guest before arrival and the dishwasher still had dirty dishes in it. If they'd been booked out, we would have needed to find a new hotel. We needed to leave & address the room when coming back. I inquired about a potential option to stay the second night on our way out for the evening & wanted to know pricing beforehand. While gone, the manager had gone ahead and charged me for the second night without me approving anything. We stayed because I didn't have the funds to go anywhere else at that point.

The pool room is nice & had bouncy pool balls + the foam roller type of pool noodles for use, however the "heated water" was freezing and takes an hour to warm up. There was also hair and spiders in the bottom of it. We didn't come back down to see if maintenance had gotten to it that day. The next day, it was still a bit cold but my kids swam anyway.

Great!
Pros:

This is our second stay at this fun property in the middle of our travel locations. The staff are always really accommodating and helpful. We had a suite this visit which was quite large and great after a long day of traveling. A bonus is the town which has a wonderful antique store and restaurant.

Cons:

Only down side was that the weather was starting to get chilly and it was a challenge to get the room warmed up…however, we got extra blankets and within a couple of hours we were quite cozy. It is an older building with huge ceilings and windows which adds to the charm, but probably makes heating/AC a real challenge. If you are traveling through give the Blackstone a try, it is a beautiful old building with a lot of charm
