Hotel El Cid by AvantStay – Mid-Century Charm with Poolside Cabanas

There was a power outage throughout most of the night and the hotel didn’t know and did not did too much to accommodate.
No ice machine nor refrigerator. In Palm Springs??

Not a very good experience. Living room couch was terrable .No TV in bedroom. No Flooring stained concrete flooring .
Front door would not lock .

Some window coverings were non existant. No counter space in bathroom.
The host was very good at providing instructions and Things to do.
Nothing like a normal hotel room with a tv in the bedroom and a livingroom with a comfortable couch .

What a hidden gem. Great location, very private, quiet and close to downtown PS. We enjoyed the pool and the room was comfortable and romantic!

Great stay

Spacious accomodation with extremely unique and interesting decor. Biggest negative was lack of a bathtub.

The location is great.
The property is well cared for although our room was not sound proof. The people next door sounded as though they were in our unit
The kitchen could use a few more basic things like a cutting board and dish drying towels. Also 2 towels in the bathroom aren’t enough.

Perfect location. 1 bedroom apt unit quiet and clean. Loved the fire pit and pool area. Bbq grill came in handy. Would definatley stay here again.

The hotel was really clean and quiet. The decor for the room made it unique compared to chain hotels. The bed was comfortable.

This was my first experience with an unattended property, but once here and settled in, I found it to be a place that I will definitely stay at again.

The room I had was very large and comfortable. I would recommend to anyone with an eclectic taste and the young at heart. I am 58 and found the property/room quite fun … there was a collection of costumes in the closet.

Be sure to respond to the email requesting identification in order to receive the gate codes, your room number, and the lock code to your room. Try it out, you’ll like it!

Had a great stay at El Cid, the property was quiet, hotel rooms are spacious and kept in great shape, we especially loved the eclectic decor. We will be back!

Really nice and relaxing stay.

The property with a full suite was a lot more than you would get anywhere else at that price but getting into it was a nightmare for us. Be aware that it is not managed on site, so you must respond to their email requests to sign a “contract” and provide a copy of your drivers license and actual photos of yourself. When I got these emails and texts from Avant Stay, I thought it was some kind of scam so I ignored them, figuring I could just show up at the motel and deal with it all there. When you get there, you won’t find an obvious entrance and you will need to respond to all their requests to get a code to open a man door to the property. The rooms are very nice, more like 5 condos and the landscaping and decor are appealing.

Pool area was not clean for 1/2 of our stay with debris in the pool. Had an issue with the shower and it took 2 days to get help - had to reach out 3 or 4 times. Expected better for the price we paid. No hot tub but area was convenient and everything else was fine

Great place to stay very nice more like a property rental

The bungalows are beautiful and it was close to the city center. The only thing I wished was that there were curtains on the living room/ kitchen windows to have more privacy. Other than that everything was wonderful!

The property is well cared for, and clean, and the units are surprisingly spacious and quiet, considering they are close to a busy road. The pool and cabana area look like the photographs, making it luxurious and relaxing.

We paid extra to stay here versus booking a traditional hotel/motel to use a kitchen and a king-sized bed, which I made sure I was booking, as I am 5 months pregnant and need the extra space. We were disappointed when we arrived to find the kitchen was just a beer fridge and microwave, so we couldn't make a meal in our suite, as well as a queen size bed which meant I had lousy sleep for 4 nights. We sent two messages to the hotel via Expedia and had no response or follow-up. We also spent a lot of money eating out, which defeated the purpose of us booking this hotel in the first place. Hopefully, the hotel will compensate us back for part of this poor experience.
