MainStay Suites Florence - Darlington

Well, we did see roaches in both of our rooms we had, the floors were not clean, one of our rooms the keys didn't work the first time so we had to go back to the office-the next day the keys stopped working again and on the last day-none of the keys worked, one of the rooms did not have any blankets and when asked for one they said they would bring it but never did-we had to go back down to the office to get some, no towels in one of the rooms, and the bathroom sink lighting is terrible, no guide on TV or paper saying which channels were which such as TNT is channel 55.

The driveway, parking lot was full of holes,large holes, I think it was dangerous because someone could've damage their car or an axel,the Mainstay is a decent price and a decent place to stay, byt something needs to be done to the driveways and parking lot.

The room was gross. The nastiest room I had ever seen. You should be ashamed listing this property on your sight.

Needs improvement

Overall, everything could have been better with this stay our room had a whole where you can tell mice/rats were entering and exiting the room. The floor was filthy underneath the bed there were belongings from a previous guest as well as trash. The bathroom was gross. There was hair on the towels prior to us using them a lot of foot traffic of people walking around the hotel.

The hotel is falling apart

Facility, structurally, is substandard. Significant volume of patrons appear to be of the Section 8 iteration, with drug use rampant on the grounds, laundry strung up in trees and an inordinate amount of debris throughout the property. Completely unsatisfactory for families or single female travelers. Unsatisfactory, unclean and unsafe across the board.

Kinda needs updating outside

NO BREAKFAST AT ALL!! The only 2 reasons I booked is it to be inexpensive because we won't be at the hotel often, and a free breakfast. They are still under renovation and it doesn't look like anything is getting renovated at all.

Your shower must run for 30 minutes to get hot. That's 30 minutes of wasted water. That's a lot of water. The water is cold for those first 25 minutes. I would just call it no hot water in this hotel. You've been warned

The room was dirty with items left over from previous guests. A dirty cup behind the bed and a forgotten charging block and cable, an open cat food container, a used bar of soap, 2 large knives under a cabinet, a leaking kitchenette sink, dirty bathroom exhaust fan, slow draining bathroom sink, no fresh towels daily, no vending machines, no cleaning service during our stay, parking lot is in extreme disrepair, and again, no breakfast. Just a Keurig in the main lobby. You get coffee in your room, but no coffee maker, no iron but it has an iron mount in the room. No hair dryer. The lighting at night in the corridors aren't too bright. The parking lot and entryway is in extreme disrepair. Pull in slowly. At least 5 MPH. There are also a lot of potholes and broken pavement. If you drive a low car or something fancy. Don't book here. You won't make it in their driveway.

The bed though was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The sheets are very thin.

The TV has a learning curve to operate. But has all your standard channels.

I don't trust the free wi-fi here at all.

The hotel looks nothing like it does in the photos. It's under renovation and it has been apparently for over a year.

The pool is empty and appears that way for a good while.

There was a required $100 dollar refundable deposit they asked for before we received our room keys. This was not mentioned anywhere and it dipped into our vacation budget. Which was not ideal.

couldn't check in on time as room wasn't ready, mirror had fallen off the wall, dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door, sink wouldn't drain, room wasn't vacuumed, counters weren't clean. overall, terrible experience

EXTREME PROBLEM WITH BUG INFESTATION, MAJOR NEED OF EXTERMINATOR, CIGARETTE BURNS EVERYWHERE IN THE ROOM

We were initially given a that someone was already living in- long term. The second room had not been cleaned before we were assigned a room we would accept. The water never really got as hot as I liked for it too but it was acceptable.
