I am a big fan of Sir Richard Branson. I flew from London to Glasgow to stay the night. I'm a member of Virgin Red points they was a offer of Hotel Opening offer 2,000 points I linked it to Virgin Hotel. After my stay There I checked for my points there was no point. I did email 9 times and sent 2 letters by post. There no points given to me.
What a shame I will stick to my Hilton. The Hotel was good the gym was not open there used the gym group just around the corner. Could do better with my points stay.
Hotel cancelled my booking for next Wednesday without any notification. If I hadn't checked booking myself I would not have known. Then they have not replied to my email. Supposed to be 5 star hotel so the least I would expect is an apology and explanation.
Horrendous stay - received a voicemail mid-stay to say we had to move out the hotel as they were closing with immediate effect (mid afternoon during the 2nd day of a 3 night stay).
Knowhere near a 5* hotel though prior to this. Bottle of Vodka within the mini bar in our room had been opened and half drunk. Lipstick all over one of the glasses within the room. Flawed layout in the floor meant the shower door was always leaking on the floor (in the hall of the room).
I love Virgin hotels. I stayed in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Whilst Glasgow is more modern (the structure) - Virgins room design are unique and I really do think they are the smartest designed hotels on the market.
We had a good stay! I really hope Virgin branch out more in Europe - like London and even some warmer climates. - Barcelona etc.
Didn't have chance to try the restaurant in Glasgow, but enjoyed the Commons Club in Edinburgh.
Went for lunch with my wife and son. Can’t fault what I had but didn’t feel special and attention to detail was lacking. My son’s starter arrived and was different from described and had to ask for the bread that it was meant to come with. My wife asked for the house champagne, was told they didn’t have it but had another and would only charge for Prosecco. Asked for a 2nd glass and was told not sure they had any. Asked what it was and was told it was “some cheap stuff they had out the back”!!! They didn’t have the ingredients for the cocktail I ordered. Offered an alternative which I accepted, then charged both on the bill. I had the £12.50 cheese board, which was nothing special. I couldn’t decide between 3 or 4 stars but settled on 3 as “average” covered it. Need to up their game for a £250+ meal. Don’t see us being back. Shame.
Have visited the bar on the ground floor twice and each time had terrible experience.
On Saturday I asked for 3 types of gin from the menu and they didn’t have any, they also didn’t have tonic. The bar was empty and it took 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive and when they did they were wrong.
The time before we were sat at the bar and again service was incredibly slow.
Too much chatting between young staff, not enough experience or attention to detail. Which is a shame because the interior is lovely and location is handy.
great hotel on great location, rooms are not big but so efficient, recommendations to book this Hotel as price quality is perfect and breakfast is fantastic. with a big group we were and service was overall absolutely fine. you won’t regret your stay
Beautiful hotel in great location
Booked this hotel for an overnight following a night out and as such probably didn’t take full advantage of everything this hotel had to offer.
Ideal location for hitting the town, very warm greeting on arrival. I’d booked a queens chamber (think that was the name). Not the largest room I’ve ever stayed in and has a quirky layout but was very satisfied. Exceptionally clean throughout , superb strength to the shower and a bed I didn’t want to get out off.
Maybe a little pricey but would balance that its value for money. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for some special rates to enjoy another stay
Very friendly staff in the hotel & restaurant made a birthday celebration stay an outstanding event. Would definitely recommend Virgin Hotel to anybody looking to stay in Glasgow
Was there this past weekend with friends, & the over all quality & service of the hotel was incredible! There was an endless variety of food & drink options all all tastes! Our server at breakfast, Stewart was extremely friendly & went above and beyond to ensure all my dietary needs were met which I couldn’t be more grateful for!
A great hotel - something a little different to a boring city centre hotel. Amazing customer service, someone welcomed me at the door and took me to reception then to my room. Room service was quick and great quality.
The rooms are super cute, great facilities.
Had a great family get together at this lovely hotel. All the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Had an evening meal and the food was excellent. George and his team looked after us so well and got some great wine tasting tips (and very nice wine). Our room was fresh, modern and very comfortable, with lots of little extras provided. Highly recommended.
Absolutely lovely hotel, great atmosphere, amazing food and drinks.
Special thanks to George and team for their outstanding service during our stay.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
We will definitely be back.
Came for a visit with my friends before Christmas! Ate at the commons club on the evening, lovely burger and gin. The breakfast the next morning was 10/10, best breakfast I’ve had! I had the pancakes as recommended by our server Stewart who was so helpful the entire time recommending places to visit in Glasgow. What a lovely hotel, definitely recommend
Sadly I don’t feel we were in the same hotel as all these 5 star reviews. We love Virgin cruise and airline but the hotel fell way short for us. We love Glasgow and stay there a lot over the year. We found the hotel over priced for what it was, on a Saturday night it’s almost the most expensive hotel in the city but nowhere near as good as the Voco or hotel indigo in our opinion. We thought being mid 40’s we were the hotel target market but it just didn’t tick many boxes for us. The rooms are tiny (I know you can upgrade but £210 is a lot for such a small room) the bed was only a double, the bedding was nice I will give them that. The app didn’t work after assigning us a room, we couldn’t use it as a key. We are both tech savvy but it just didn’t work. On stepping out the lift on 6th floor the carpet is a trip hazard and needs relaid, not very good after only 3 months of being open. The room has the feel of a ships cabin about it. I love a cruise but I don’t want a cabin type room in a Scottish city. Separate WC not a bad idea but it’s too small and ours had drainage issues and smelt horrible. Shower was lovely and Scottish toiletries a nice touch and Scottish biscuits and Scottish mini bar and snack items (over priced too) then you have English water, we have at least 2 very good Scottish brands, why go south of border to source that(a little point but it’s a hate of mine being proud to be Scottish and we have the most lovely water). Staff were lovely at reception and spirit hours nice touch too but apparently we hadn’t signed up to the know loyalty scheme despite following the instructions when booking our stay for the extra points, academic now as this is not the hotel for us. Final straw was arriving back at hotel after midnight and the card didn’t work and we couldn’t get back in. Bell looked like it was working but no one came. Thankfully staff member left the hotel and we got in (not very secure we could have been anyone she didn’t challenge us) last week at voco we had to show the doorman our keycard to get in, that felt so much safer and no risk of being left out in the cold. When we approached reception a staff member was making up Christmas drinks and cookies into bags. He appeared to be oblivious we had been trying to ring the bell to get in. I would like to add the hotel has been informed of our concerns in checkout and have contacted us to assure us they will take on board our comments going forward however I still felt that I had to leave a review as it’s our experience of our stay.
Excellent stay first class staff with nice breakfast great choice of wines in the evening, stayed in room 706 next to lifts not wakened at all lifts very fast 30 seconds to room reception staff very helpful. Great hotel
We stayed here for a wee night away.
The hotel is still fairly new and is very fresh throughout. The style is dark and classy but cool. This included the room which was clean and new.
We booked a small room and small it was, but fine for our visit and still had a sort of sofa attached to the bed, table and a nice big shower.
The hotel had a nice restaurant and bar as well which was pretty busy.
Price wise its probably towards the top end of the 4 star range however while it's fresh and new definitely offers better value compared to some of the other city centre hotels. Staff were helpful and friendly - same person checked us in and out and she remembered us from prev day which was nice. Location wise down at Broomielaw so an easy 5-10 min walk to everything. Hotel gives a discount at Q Park which works out as £13.50 for 24h. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes. Would I stay here again? Yes
Loved this hotel and was blown away!
We arrived very early due to an earlier flight and staff couldn’t do enough to help us get our room as soon as they could. Was so impressed with the room design, smart use of space and so many gadgets.
The team made this hotel and couldn’t do enough to give recommendations and support. Shout out to the team who hosted spirit hour on 22/11 and to Nicole in the restaurant! Amazing hospitality.
Cant wait to plan another trip in the near future
Fantastic staff, lovely hotel and the room was fantastic too, can’t wait to go back
