Nothing as such it’s very difficult to find out even a SINGLE MISTAKE
The restaurant “Pather Panchali” positions itself as a Bengali food specialist, and while the name evokes nostalgia and cultural depth, the actual experience left me questioning the intent behind it. From ambiance to authenticity, there’s room for the soul of Bengal to come through more strongly.
Reception / Lobby Experience:
The lobby resembled more of a government bank than a hotel—staff seated at desks handling what felt like corporate tasks, with no comfortable seating for guests. The formality was excessive, with everyone in suits seemingly more concerned with appearances than guest service. A friendly face was hard to find. One manager even justified a poorly ventilated room as their “best” simply because it’s frequently offered free of charge to ministers. It took a moment to fully process the irony of that explanation.
Housekeeping & In-Room Dining:
The housekeeping and in-room dining staff were polite and genuinely tried to do their best. However, the lack of proper training was evident—not just in the staff, but also in whoever is responsible for training them. Their effort was visible, but they were clearly under-equipped to deliver the service level expected at this price point.
Property Condition & Value for Money:
The property is outdated and in serious need of renovation. If the management intends to charge premium rates, a major upgrade is necessary. As it stands, the hotel is far from deserving any star rating. At best, it can function as a basic highway motel—not a destination for comfort or quality.
Location
Rooms at 5th floor are pathetic. No window view. No lift. Ceiling hight is low
The hotel location and cleanliness
Room provided to me was very very small and a locked window. Most of their rooms are without any window.
