What a lovey staff team - great breakfast and a fab location - The renovations meant that not everything was as it will be and so the wifi, TV and shower were not great but I think it will be amazing when finished - well done all.
nothing outside the renovations (which I knew about)
I could feel the springs in the bed. My room must of been next to a Landry room as the could hear washing machine thumping at 11pm and again at 6am. The room was freezing cold.
Friendly staff
The location, the breakfast and its old fashioned charm.
It will be a lot better once all the renovations are finished.
Location
Good breakfast
Mattress not comfortable
Great breakfast.
Stayed one night in March after visiting the Playhouse - very convenient as it’s only a 5 minute walk away. Staff here were really nice but our room was not up to scratch - nice and clean, but very old fashioned and basic. Also could have done with a thicker duvet on the bed since the heating went off during the night and it was a bit airy.
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment at the moment (see picture), so hopefully the rooms are or will be getting done soon.
Parking at the front of the hotel is limited and we had to park about 10 minutes away in the Bournemouth Gardens car park - £4.80 for all day (until 9am next day).
Lovely situation, nice room and really friendly staff
Nothing really
Convenient to check in ok at 8 00 on Sunday Evening.Easy walk for meal at Fire Station Spoons. Breakfast included and anytime from 6 30 am.I down nearer 8 00.
Bathroom was v cold I accept htg costs are v expensive but a hot air blower would have helped.
It was great being just across the road from the beach.
I loved the full English breakfast each morning.
The property will be great when the renovations are finished.
There was a very high step to down when getting out of the shower - it was a bit dangerous.
Price and breakfast are great. The staff are very friendly and service is superb.
The room was very dated with old furniture, small single bed, old desk and wardrobe. Dated curtain and bleak en-suite. We came 2+ years ago when renovations started and they are still ongoing.
Pleasant greeting on arrival with very efficient check-in.Single room fine with all facilities although mattress could do with an upgrade.Superb buffet breakfast ,plenty of choice with pleasant service.
Not one to complain but the mattress was just bearable. However this did not detract from my pleasant and enjoyable stay and would definitely return.
The staff, especially the gentleman on reception, were excellent. Room, location and cleanliness couldn't be faulted
Everything was great
Nice place, good spot and room well equipped, parking available.
Room 16, Missed the small step to the room every time but biggest issue was the mattress which needs replacing and needs to be firmer.. Otherwise a good place to stay and being upgraded for future guests.
Wifi was not working, maybe due to the work going on?
Great location and very friendly and helpful staff
The cleanliness of the rooms, blood on curtains, ripped carpet, radiators on a timer for not long enough so room bitterly cold.
First room I was in had the springs in mattress coming through, a lovely lady moved me the next day and the bed was slightly better but had a bad damp smell.
