The room was clean but had a strong bleach smell floral. Moved to another room. Had to ask multiple times to have the heat turned on - very cool. Surprised as we had a reservation and was not sure why it was so cool. You cannot control you own heat. Person Brought an electric heater. could not get the TV to work - did not report. Bed was comfortable. Great pressure in shower and hot water.
Was traveling through, heater did not work or it was set at a very low temperature you could not raise it. I had to sleep in my clothes to stay warm. Staff would not work with us on it and the next morning I try to find the staff to say something about something else And could not even find anybody. Evidently they like to sleep in wish I could’ve gotten any sleep at all.
Lovely owner made a fantastic Udon soup at the little restaurant.
The room was clean but very cheaply maintained and not very professional
We really enjoyed the staff and the rooms were great while we were traveling the ALCAN hwy
Pleasant
I first stayed at the Cozy Corner about 40 years ago when it was new and shiny. It's changed hands several times since then, but has never, to my knowledge, had a major renovation, so it's a bit tired. The doors and windows open and close, so there's that, I suppose. The plumbing works.
The beds were soft and too small for more than one person to sleep in. Signs were prominently posted describing dire consequences if any towels or bed linen were to go missing. Food in the restaurant left us wishing we had dined from the larder in the car.
The pickings in Haines Junction are pretty limited, but you can do better than this.
This property was extremely dated. I had to pay extra for my dog, which I understand, but my husband!?
The room didn’t have proper electrical outlets in the bathroom to use a hairdryer or a curling iron.
The beds were doubles and two people could not possibly sleep together. Would have been nice to know that I was getting a room with 2 double beds.
I woke up in the middle of the night scratching. I know I had become so paranoid about how bad the room was.
Bottom line. Sleep in your vehicle!! Don’t stay here!!
Rock hard spring beds, pillows were as flat as a pancake.
The motel is old but owners seem to do their best to keep it clean and cozy
Decorations on walls are handpainted
The bathroom is clean and the beds are confortable
The food served in the restaurant is good
Owners are friendly
The TV network could be more user friendly
Wifi network is sometimes slow
.
The view is worth the stay, especially with limited options for hotel rooms in the area.
This is an older motel but happy to find an option in the area.
Needs remodeling
Staff was VERY friendly and professional.
It was a pretty average location. I would definitely not stay there again
Friendly staff. Older hotel with carpet and we did see one roach. No place to hang clothes, no ac, no microwave, no heat control, the tub was extremely slippery, no grab bars and the rear window would not close properly. The beds were comfortable but the table and chair were wobbly.
The area is extremely nice and much safer than nearby Whitehorse.
Would not stay again.
It was nice and clean
Do not stay here. Actually, just don't stay in Haines Junction - there is nowhere decent to stay. Stayed overnight toward the end of April on my way between AK and WA. The windows had plastic on them and a rug over the door to attempt to keep heat in. Owner thought it would be ok to leave the heat off and I had to call around 10pm to ask to have heat! I had every piece of clothing on that I could manage and was almost hypothermic. One of the worst/scariest nights I've ever had on the road. Also, around 11pm, there was someone with 2 cats and a rabbit looking for a place to spend the night and the owner turned them away, in freezing cold temps in this remote place, despite having several rooms available. I was very tempted to run outside and share my room but as a solo female I couldn't chance it. Very depressing. Will never stay here again.
Will choose this place every time. Clean, quiet, and safe.
