Bedrooms were great - large and with a separate dressing area, loo and bathroom. Very comfy bed and lovely big windows. Very quiet so slept very well. Great vibe and the Puffin Bar is very popular. Loads of excellent restaurants and coffee places nearby and just around the corner from vibrant Cuba street.
I arrived out of hours so didn't meet staff. Special thanks to Will the Puffin Bar doorman though - I was very worn out, and stressed on arrival and he was so kind (went and got my key and helped me get to lift/operate it etc). He made me feel so welcome. Also the whole team at Puffin were so friendly as well and welcomed my dog (as did everyone in the bar !) - really added a lot to my Intrepid stay (the hotel is completely separate but they share a hallway!). So even though I didn’t get to meet the hotel team, I had great service!
I also really appreciated the pet bowls and dog bed in my room too - thank you. My room was wonderful, huge windows, decent sized bathroom and main room. My rest was the best!
No restaurant but that was OK as plenty around the area. Puffin Bar downstairs was nice and obviously a popular place.
The only criticism is that although I was there largely for private visit, I was also working but because there was no desk in the room, I had to go to nearby cafes to work. A small work desk and chair would really add to the quality of stay
A comfy night but a bit 'tired' compared to the boutique 'treat' stay I was hoping for. Great location for out of towners and some nice touches but needs some TLC.
Easy to get to from the location I was spending time at
Low level complaints
The bed frame was smaller than the mattress and covered with a tight space to get round so banged my shins every time.
There was a draught coming through the window despite is being closed
The plug in the sink was broken so water was filling in the sink and I couldn’t release it.
Friendly, convenient, stylish.
I found the bed a bit hard.
This hotel was not your usual white walls and decor. It was very atmospheric, maybe a bit bohemian. Dark green walls and tiles with brass fittings. Very comfy bed and nice sheets. Excellent bar downstairs and room to sit quietly as well. Close to many cafes and restaurants.
Great location, rooms were really large and the complimentary everything - snacks, drinks and Freddos - were much appreciated.
Only downside was that because of it being Easter Sunday, neither the bar nor the Puffin shop were open.
Great location. Clean and easy to access.
The description in Booking.com said it was a suite with a separate living room area and separate bedroom. It was actually just a single king-size bed room. There was only one extra chair in the space. It was definitely not a two room suite as advertised.
It was classic with hint of eclectic decor. A perfect stay.
Nothing.
