Breakfast was good delicious fruit
Especially as 2 of us were Coeliac and plenty of gluten free was provided
Stairs difficult for elderly people or disabled
But we’re a feature
Amazing hotel and lovely staff
location lovely, room lovely. Staff great
Breakfast wasn’t the best
We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Our room was quiet, comfortable and perfect for a relaxing night’s sleep.
The hotel is in a fantastic central location, just a few minutes’ walk from the train station, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.
We also enjoyed the food – the menu offered a great selection and everything we had was very good.
The only small points for us were the breakfast and pillows. Personally, I would have preferred a cooked breakfast, but the continental options were excellent, with a wide variety of fresh, good-quality choices available.
The room had four pillows, but they were all the same standard softness. It would have been nice to have a choice, such as two standard and two firmer pillows, to suit different preferences.
It is v economical and the staff are nice.
The wing where are rooms were was so much hotter than the other areas is the hotel (plus the radiators were on and it was 24 degrees outside). The TV didn’t work. The green light on the ceilings in all the rooms is very difficult to sleep with
Lovely staff and very kind. Having the breakfast included was nice.
Well-located, nice bar and restaurant, breakfast included. Room amenities were available
A little too hot though there was a fan in the room
Very helpful staff. Delicious evening meal.
Bad odour in bathroom.
Very small supper portion.
Lovely hotel.Great location
Staff could be a bit more attentive at breakfast. I know it is self service continental, but had to wait a wee while to get coffee. Could to with a new toaster. But breakfast was nice.
Głośno od ulicy , bardzo niewygodny miekki materac
Our bedroom was spacious and nicely equipped.
Our bedroom radiator seemed to be permanently on warm even in off position so the room was very hot in spite of a fan and windows open.
Breakfast was abominable. Only very sweet pastries, even the croissant was filled with some jam substance,
The fruit was like a reject from a greengrocer , the coffee was as weak as water.
Staff were lovely & very helpful. Bedroom small but perfect for a few nights stay. Food at the restaurant/bar was excellent & very good value.
Personally I would prefer a cooked breakfast while I'm away for a short break. However the continental breakfast was lovely..
The hotel has a lovely location.
The pillow on my bed was absolutely filthy with not even a pillow case to hide it. Was genuinely quite shocked. £140 for the room ? TV didn’t work at all. Hope this was a terrible one off ….
The room was fantastic, on checking in the staff member on reception was able to recognise one of the party had mobility issues and instantly changed the room, excellent customer service. The staff member on reception was Paige she was fantastic couldn't do enough for us. Also another staff member who deserves a special mention was Scott again couldn't do enough for us.
We had nothing we didn't like
What a fantastic weekend. Decided on the Riva because it was dog friendly. It's much, much more.
Staff are just fantastic, ready to answer and help with anything. From reception staff to Colin, the night porter, totally focused on making our stay, just right.
Our room was stunning, spacious, with a view out onto the sea.
We ate in the restaurant on our second night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was great as was the friendly service.
As a location, great access to the Trossachs, Loch Lomond and then further out west.
They truly care about making dogs welcome. Treats, beds and bowls everywhere with unlimited fuss.
I don't know who enjoyed it more, us or our two Border Collies.
Nice proportioned room. Nice bar and staff, decent breakfast
I didn’t like the green light mounted on the ceiling that was permanently on. That impacted our sleep quite a lot
The hotel is lovely and the location is excellent. Staff were very nice. We ate in the hotel one night and were very happy with the food and service we received. Fresh towels every day was great.
I think if we had the opportunity to get snacks later in the evening ie a toastie etc this would have been good but not a deal breaker
