Cronton Design Hotel

Nice rooms and excellent location. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Although, they open the room door on multiple occasions which we found extremely odd. Rooftop restaurant had nice views, but food was okay at best.

Staff was rude on check in. Staff was nicer on check out. Restaurant staff was nice, and delivered to our room. Room was loud for even being on the 5th floor. Shower leaked. Area was nice that it was near the Spice Market. Hotel property was otherwise nice. But would never stay there again.

Not very nuce

Absolutely gorgeous boutique hotel in the heart of sultanahmet in the old town within walking distance to all the sights and both bazaars. The rooms are beautifully decorated and every details is taken care of. The staff are lovely and so helpful with recommendations. Without doubt, if we come back to istanbul, we will stay here. Thoroughly recommend.

Very nice property overall

Set in a beautifully restored late-Ottoman Empire building constructed in 1912, the Cronton Design Hotel is a great base for exploring the city. The rooms, while a little on the small side, are luxuriously appointed. I had a balcony room on the 5th floor from which I had a nice view of the Rustem Pasha Mosque. The room was spotlessly clean and the housekeeping excellent.

Stepping outside the hotel, you’re straight into the hustle and bustle of the historic streets of Istanbul and most tourist sites are within walking distance. However, both the Eminonu and Sirkechi tram stops are only a 5 minute walk away should you prefer to use public transport to get around. It seems that taxis sometimes struggle to get directly outside the hotel and may drop you off a 3-5 minute walk away but if you call the front desk they will send a porter to carry your luggage to the lobby. Likewise, on departure, the front desk insisted the porter accompanied me to the nearby tram stop.

There is also a rooftop restaurant and bar [Cronton Roof] which has a really nice view over the Golden Horn to the Galata Tower and Karakoy. The streets around the hotel are littered with numerous eateries and my personal favourite for breakfast was the small café on the corner to the right of the hotel’s entrance.

Beautiful property. Close to many attractions making it walkable. Also close to the tram and the ferry dock if you want to use public transportation. The room is clean and comfortable and beautiful.

Wonderful boutique hotel in a great spot with quick access to many things. The rooms are lovely and amenities were nice. The restaurant on the main level was excellent for coffee and breakfast with a cool, hip vibe and great music. The doors were always open which allowed for excellent people watching. The rooftop restaurant has great views of the city and a nice menu although service up there was not great. This is a terrific spot if you want to be close to everything and feel like you are right in the heart of things. Our biggest challenge was communicating with the front desk staff. Overall, it was a lovely stay and we would recommend.

Rooms are much much smaller than shown in the pictures . No iron in the room , which you can easily find in 3 star hotels . Blowdryer very basic and not working professionally.

Staff are confused and they are not fully trained how to properly apply the procedures .

I rented another hotel only 3 star in Istanbul for another part of my trip , Hilton garden Inn , was much more comfortable and convenient.


Please don’t be fooled by exceptional rating of this hotel in expediaaa . Would never come back to this hotel

Gokhan, Can, and the girl with blonde hair at reception were awesome. Very friendly and helpful and these 3 especially made it a great experience. Thank you!

I was very surprised with this hotel. Amazing service and it’s very close to everything. Room was super clean! Probably the most clean hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend it!

Disappointing stay at Cronton. They did not accommodate the correct room selected through Expedia, and I had several issues with the amenities provided. The area around the hotel was incredibly noisy, I could hear a crying baby in the room next to me all night, AC did not work, I had to walk very far to call a taxi, and they refused to refund the remainder of my stay after I checked out after night 1.

Great hotel - very close to all main attractions. Suat at the reception desk was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Drinks at the rooftop bar vere very expensive, but a great view.

Had a short break in Istanbul. The Cronton Design Hotel was perfect. It is well located for visiting all the sites. The food on the rooftop terrace was excellent with an amazing view of the surrounding area. I would have no hesitation at staying here again.
