Shocking.
Pros:

I liked the location being central in the town by sea front

Cons:

Customer service was poor!! Rude and not very friendly, gave us our key and then disappeared so had to walk around the building until we found the room.
Shower and toilet was hairy and unclean.
Floor wasn't hoovered, hair and dirt on the floor.
Shower head fell on my head while I showered.
Curtains were very thin so light comes through and woke us up very early.
Paid £140 with our own shower and was not worth the money at all. Do not waste your money on this hotel!
Look elsewhere and pay the extra somewhere else.

Poo skid marks down the toilet!!!
Pros:

Found this hotel through booking com.
Pictures looked lovely!!,but on our arrival it was nothing like it.
We was met by a unhelpful staff, spoke hardly any English.
We was given room 16,OMG!!!
The room was disgusting dirty,I went to use the toilet, only to find when I lifted the pan to find poo skid marks down the pan!!
The sink was dirty, all mirrors had hand marks all over them.
The bed sheets stunk and wasn't clean, had to what looked like black spots of dirt all over them.
We then turned around and got our money back after 20 mins of arguing with the staff. It spoilt our weekend, would never go back!!!
Deal is a nice place itself, but please avoid this hotel and I'm very surprised it hasn't been shut down by now!!

Quiet stay near the sea
Pros:

The breakfast was good and the location near the seaside was perfect for a morning sunrise walk. Deal castle is also within walking distance. There are plenty of dining options near the hotel.

Cons:

The reception isn't manned. I had to call a phone number to get help. There is no room heating, and I had to call three times to get portable room heaters. The windows are single glazed and the room gets very chilly. In the shared bathroom, hot water kicked in after a long time (and a call to the reception). There is a wash basin in the room, which again had no hot water. The hotel is from 1720 (according to their wallpaper), and hence all the hot water and heating issues. There was no tv remote in the room, given the number of times we had to call the reception, we gave up.

In need of improvement
Pros:

I have stayed at this hotel before but it has deteriorated a lot. On arrival I was not exactly welcomed and left virtually in the dark. My room was pleasant with sea view but there was no hot water( a gas problem) the shower only operated on dangerously hot, the hair dryer did not work and it was cold. Having put heaters on it warmed up fine. It needed a deep clean .The corridor light blew each time I turned it on so a torch light was needed to open my door.
On the positive the breakfast was good and well cooked.
This hotel has great potential but needs investment and loving care both of which are lacking at present .

un welcoming - broken facilities
Pros:

The breakfast saved this visit - lovely bacon and eggs. everything else a bit of a nightmare.

Cons:

I was desperate for the loo on arrival and had to hunt around to find someone to check me in, when I finnally found someone - they barely spoke to me - or told me how to find the room. when I found the room - I had to share a bathroom which I found in the hall - I couldn't find the light switch - so had to go in the dark - eventually found a tiny cord light pull - where the cord should have been - bathroom had no sink and a broken shower - the sink in my room had no hot water. so I left without a wash!

Room was freezing cold - put on small heater, room was dusty - windows were mouldy and you could open fully - so not safe - easy to jump out from the tiop of the building!

Generally the whole stay was unpleasant - but the breakfast was so go good, I was still very glad to leave. such a shame as a lovely spot - but the whole place needs some love
