Allocated parking , really clean, friendly staff
Friendly staff who called me to advise I could book in early.
I have stayed at this hotel before but it has deteriorated a lot. On arrival I was not exactly welcomed and left virtually in the dark. My room was pleasant with sea view but there was no hot water( a gas problem) the shower only operated on dangerously hot, the hair dryer did not work and it was cold. Having put heaters on it warmed up fine. It needed a deep clean .The corridor light blew each time I turned it on so a torch light was needed to open my door.
On the positive the breakfast was good and well cooked.
This hotel has great potential but needs investment and loving care both of which are lacking at present .
The breakfast saved this visit - lovely bacon and eggs. everything else a bit of a nightmare.
I was desperate for the loo on arrival and had to hunt around to find someone to check me in, when I finnally found someone - they barely spoke to me - or told me how to find the room. when I found the room - I had to share a bathroom which I found in the hall - I couldn't find the light switch - so had to go in the dark - eventually found a tiny cord light pull - where the cord should have been - bathroom had no sink and a broken shower - the sink in my room had no hot water. so I left without a wash!
Room was freezing cold - put on small heater, room was dusty - windows were mouldy and you could open fully - so not safe - easy to jump out from the tiop of the building!
Generally the whole stay was unpleasant - but the breakfast was so go good, I was still very glad to leave. such a shame as a lovely spot - but the whole place needs some love
Location
Staff very helpful.
Toilet door hard to open/close.
Damp on hallway wall
Bannister wobbly.
Electric socket situation did not look safe.
Looks very rundown. Not sure if about to do some work on the property but needs a lot of attention.
Room was dingy and uninviting. The shower did not work. No breakfast available although should have been included. Staff abrupt and uninterested. Had to ask for a refund for the breakfast (still not sure if it has been refunded).
The receptionist was friendly and the waterfront / the pier right outside - those are the only good things.
The overall facilities are very poor. The sheets had stains that clearly couldn't come out from washing (they did smell like washed though), the carpet had stains, the walls (you can see some old leakage stains), there were fittings that were falling apart, falling apart sockets, in the bathroom sink there was no hot water. We were lucky to have a private bathroom. There was one little electric fan heater, which had to keep on, as our stay was in the winter.
I dont understand some of the reviews at best this is a bang average hotel. If your room is at the back of the hotel the road is busy and noisy. If its windy the windows bang. We had an accessible room with a huge bathroom which was freezing and had a shower with a broken regulator. The breakfast was poor with the no one replenishing the buffet. Some lovely staff and some not.
Like many hotels of this vintage it needs a lot of work to really bring it up to scratch.
The showers are comunal on each floor, and are tiny and very old and basic. The worst hotel I've ever stayed in. The bedroom is terrible. The staff were nice.
Nothing
Breakfast was good but the service was slow and drawn out, toast not served with breakfast, came after id finished eating.
The waitress was good hearted and pleasant but obviously poorly trained.
We arrived after 4 pm, told by male receptionist that we had not paid and he requested full payment. We showed him evidence of payment Mastercard Statement on line. He gave me the key, found the room dirty, bed not made, it had not been cleaned from the last resident. Complained to the male receptionist, who then attempted to remake the bed with the soiled sheets and pillow cases. We complained. We had now wasted 40 minutes to this point. We left our cases in the room to attend an urgent appointment.
We returned two hours later, to find the room rudimentary cleaned to a poor standard.
No toilet paper in the WC, waste bin overflowing with ladies used hygiene products evident. shower room dirty, shower soap and shampoo dispensers empty. Since our last stay there two years ago the standards have plummeted!
Breakfast very good, Room no shower or toilet and the share shower was a accident waiting to happen. the mixer tap was not fit for purpose, after running for 5-8 mins the hot water was boiling add cold water it went freezing not good for seventy one year olds, excellent location.
mixer tap and no curtains to draw
The location was perfect, close to the sea, convenient for the high street shops, close to good restaurants, but quiet enough in the evening to get some good sleep. The staff were friendly and attentive.
Preis für die Unterkunft viel zu hoch! Eine Toilette/Dusche auf dem Flur für eine ganze Etage…Sauberkeit ließ zu wünschen übrig.
