The room and grounds were beautiful. I liked the community fire and s'mores kits in the evening. Staff was friendly and attentive. I didn't have time to use the sauna, but like that there was one available.
I loved the bathtub, but my husband would've liked a shower as well in the room.
Parking
Could hear everyone the house this room was in was not insulated the windows had sheer curtains so anyone could look through. Low water pressure and they charge fees for service animals. Overall a disappointing experience the pictures definitely gave it more cozy but it was more repainted and dingy in person.
A continental breakfast should have been included. The coffee, tea set up was nice along with the smores were a nice treat.

The breakfast basket which was an original way to serve breakfast and we got to enjoy it in the breakfast nook of our room
…there was no tv…but I’m wondering if that is not done on purpose because of other activities provided like the sauna and/or smores by the fire pit. Also, there were books and a game of scrabble in the room.

Great location.
No shower head in bathtub - extremely difficult to clean yourself (this should have been disclosed). Difficult to turn on heat and air if needed. You can hear every little footstep from the room above. The blinds in my room wouldn’t roll down properly - I reached out to front desk who informed me it would be taken care of and nothing ever happened until I reached out again 35 hours later. For the price, I was expecting a lot more.
The communal fire place was nice and the books in the room.
I found the price to be a bit extreme for the room. There was a strange smell, musky and almost like somebody previously smoked in the room. The bathroom was a bit moldy. There was hair on the walls of the shower and dead bugs on the walls of the main room. The heating/air system appeared to barley function and made odd noises. We were either freezing or overheating - there never seemed to be a middle ground. Very thin walls. You can hear everything from the room above and the room next to you. All and all it was okay, but definitely lack luster for the amount of money I spent on three nights.
It is a nice hotel: the room is well-maintained, the decor and appliances are there. Really loved their teas and drip coffee: higher quality than most boutique or fancier/pricier hotels provide. Smores every night were great: they started a fire and provided kits with everything needed to everyone. Good restaurants nearby (Lisa G, Sentinel & Station, Salt of the Earth).
Shower could be cleaner, the way it's designed is trapping moisture and I believe that's the biggest issue.
When we arrived to hotel we found large pieces of broken glass under the cabinet - in the morning we found numerous small pieces on the carpet and told staff about the issue in-person + messaged them, they acknowledged the problem and promised to clean asap but we found that no one did it when we came back in the evening. Needed escalation to get someone to do it... some miscommunication happened between their staff.

A/c was sporadic. The linked mini-splits caused some problems. You had to ask for fresh towels and they did not pick up used ones. You also had to ask for trash pickup. Small room. No tv.
We loved the breakfast . We love the fact that there was no TV and in the room, and there was no clock. We love the way the room is decorated and the amenities.
We didn’t receive a written receipt and so far we haven’t received one by email or text

This place was so cosy, loved the decor and the view of the mountains! Great location for exploring Lake Placid and the Adirondacks, and we loved the campfire and s’mores and the sauna.
Everything was wonderful, my only small comment was that the room felt a bit damp - even when using the extractor fan in the bathroom. But a minor thing!
Property was very cute, the buildings were all separated in different buildings. The room was super cute, had good conditioner, bathroom, bed was comfortable. There was coffee and tea offered in the room, and we were offered smores to do near the fire which we enjoyed.
