Disco music from next door. I did not sleep well for 2 nights because of the vibration in my body. Even with ear plugs AND noise machine on. I wont stay there again, even though staff was very nice. Breakfast should provide bigger portions.

This property is absolutely stunning! San Miguel is already such a special place but this was the cherry on top! It is so beautiful and peaceful, with a beautiful garden! It definitely feels very old world in the most beautiful way. Central to everything in the city, and I cannot stop praising the attentive staff, some of the kindest people! Definitely plan on staying here longer!
I wanted to take the time and leave an honest review as I recently stayed here. I had flown in from Cancun, stayed at a 5 star resort and booked the Orchid House as I wanted a 5 star hotel. I don’t know what I missed, but this is an average hotel. This hotel has a beautiful environment and it’s definitely a “boutique hotel” but other than the free breakfast, it has no other amenities.
I think major improvements can include a pool, gym, spa, etc. Staff greet you but are very absent. During our entire 3 days there, we never saw staff, except twice. While it’s nice having the “whole place to myself” feel, it’s not an Airbnb, but a hotel, which can be a disadvantage. We checked out at 7am and provided the kitchen staff our key as there was no receptionist.
The home is beautiful and is located in an amazing area, but I would definitely consider other options if you really want to be fully catered to.
Beautiful hotel with friendly staff right in the middle of the historical center. We were there during the week, so there was no noise from the club next door. Even though it was not mentioned in the listing, there was air conditioning in our room.
If the doors are kept open, the mosquitos get in.

I like the convenience to the Parroquia and other places. It might be too quiet at times, but if that's what you need and like then this is the place. Kudos to Fabiola the awesome lady that cooks in the morning she is so sweet! The lady that cleans your room is very nice and the gentleman that cleans the grounds on the property.
There is 1 thing I didn't appreciate from Roberto the guy at the front desk is the lack of empathy and transparency when I asked for prices on transportation from airport to hotel and hotel to airport. He only gave me price for 1 way and that brought problems with transportation people. Thank goodness the owner of transportation was so nice and we came to an agreement. Roberto needs to be more professional handling a situation that he didn't took ownership on his side.
Opening the wood door off the beautiful cobblestone streets of the central historic district leads to a beautiful tranquil open atrium of the Orchid House. This small boutique hotel has 5-6 rooms off the courtyard. Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. Breakfast was made to order in the dining room and included. Pass through stone hallway and end up in a back garden.
Ok so weekends there are bars/clubs in the vicinity. Some reviewers have been sensitive to the music. Earplugs are provided and the windows are “soundproof”. While you could hear the sound without earplugs, we found it no issue with getting a good night’s sleep.
Orchid House is perfectly located in the center of historic San Miguel. A note about the city: it is not at all what I would call disability friendly. Super narrow sidewalks and fairly rough cobblestone roads make for a walking experience that requires attention. However that said, the city is breathtaking!
We will definitely return and stay at Orchid House.
Rustic but quite sophisticated overall environmental qualities, Extremely lovely courtyards, Excellent staff.
The single horrible aspect was the disco club adjacent to the property that boomed into our room until 3 a.m. All other positive aspects were overshadowed by that situation.

The boutique hotel was wonderful and located in the heart of San Miguel De Allende. The breakfast was prepared by Fabiola in the morning and the Chilaquiles was delicious!

First floor rooms you could hear people chatting in the morning as it was next to the breakfast area.
