Location is very close to the mall with supermarket and various food items avail within a 5 min walk. Hotel security is good and generally felt safe in the area.

We love this hotel and have stayed here more than once. The rooms are clean and spacious, staff are friendly and nothing is to much to ask. It's central to everything.
Awful experience checking in.
Firstly check-in is at 16.00 and we were only checked in at 18.00 - had to wait in the lobby with an unwell elderly family member.
Secondly - check in staff was checking us under incorrect booking /name
Thirdly - locked bag was tampered with by housekeeping.
Location was great and views from the rooms are stunning
The linen was torn and breakfast was cold … rooms are very small which makes it feel a little cramped

Pool war nicht gereinigt und nicht benutzbar. Reinigung erfolgte , da wir aber nur 1 Nacht da waren konnten wir ihn nicht nutzen. Balkon staubig . Booking verweist nicht darauf, dass Hotel Halal ist.

The breakfast was very good on the first day when we had it as it opened but wasn’t quite as good on the two other days when we had it later. The staff were great.
It would have been nice to buy a beer at the end of the day.
Disappointing stay – poor transparency and inadequate assistance
Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my stay at this Hyatt property in Johannesburg.
When we arrived, the room was cold. We contacted reception and were told that the heating system in that part of the building was not working due to technical problems. The proposed solution was simply to provide us with a small portable heater. I had to insist quite strongly before they finally agreed to change our room. Eventually, the room was changed, but the way the problem was handled was far from what I would expect from an international hotel chain such as Hyatt.
There were also issues with the condition and preparation of the room. The bed sheets had visible tears, and overall there was a lack of attention to detail and care in preparing the room.
Another major disappointment was the restaurant’s alcohol policy. No alcohol was served at the hotel restaurant, and we were told that the property operates as a Halal establishment. However, this information was not clearly mentioned on the Booking.com listing. This is important information that guests should know before booking, particularly when it concerns a significant aspect of the hotel’s services. As Hyatt is an American international hotel group, this was certainly not something I would have expected without clear prior information.
What disappointed me most was the lack of transparency and the inadequate assistance when problems arose. A hotel of this level should be much more proactive in informing guests and resolving issues rather than waiting for them to insist.
Overall, I believe the management and operation of the property need significant improvement. The standards I experienced were not what I would expect from a Hyatt hotel, and I believe the property deserves greater attention and oversight from Hyatt corporate management.

Hyatt is well located within 5 minute walk to the Rosebank Mall, as well as restaurants, public transport etc. Breakfast is excellent, as you can see the items are curated - top notch Halaal breakfast as well. Staff are well trained, courteous and extremely helpful.
Things that could be improved, but are minor in relation to the overall experience: Breakfast could do with a bit more options like the Cape Town branch, or perhaps rotate a few options in for the next day. In the room, there wasn't liquid soap for the basin, one had to use the bottle from the shower.
