What a fantastic hotel! Ace Hotel in Surry Hills was the perfect choice for our short Sydney getaway.
The location is ideal, with easy access to the train from the airport and the city centre within comfortable walking distance. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The hotel's quirky, stylish décor gives it a wonderful character and atmosphere, while our room was thoughtfully appointed with everything needed for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.
The Lobby Bar is a beautifully designed space with a great atmosphere and excellent service. We also enjoyed a superb pre-theatre dinner at Loam, where the food was excellent and the service friendly and prompt — perfect when heading out to a show.
The highlight of our visit was seeing My Fair Lady at the Sydney Opera House, and staying at Ace Hotel made the whole experience even more memorable.
Full credit to my wife for choosing Ace Hotel again after enjoying a previous stay. She certainly got it right! A wonderful boutique hotel that delivers on style, comfort, hospitality and location.
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Highly recommended!
Having to leave.
Hotel was fab. Staff were so lovely, friendly and very helpful. When I asked they gave me great recommendations for places to eat. A highlight was the bed. It was AMAZING. So comfy. Fab pillows and duvet. The tv worked well and had the option to cast from my phone which surprisingly not all places have nowadays.
The location was great. Near lots of nice cafes and close to the main shopping streets, public transport etc. I would really recommend this hotel! Super safe and fab if you’re travelling solo or as a couple.

Pillows to big more smaller ones would have been better. Lighting in room could be better, Our 2nd stay here and this time an internal room facing the next block so felt a little dark and gloomy. Street facing rooms are better

The bed felt like a double bed even though it was supposedly a queen. I had to call down to reception to check. My partner and I had a very uncomfortable sleep.

Bar staff continuing conversation with a friend whilst I try to order was surprising and disappointing. Lack of facilities for later departures is also really poor for a hotel like this.
