Excellent service, special thanks to Manager Wang
This hotel have excellent service as i expected. Villas, were really good, surrounded by the greenery which was excellent for nature lover and breakfast was good too. I went there with my family and they loved it. Staff were also very friendly and polite. Rooms were really good for groups or families.
Luxurious accommodation, with beautiful scenery, helpful staff, comfortable and beautiful villa.
As a Conrad property, the service meets and in some cases exceeds expectations. However, this is very much a Wanda hotel and some of the infrastructure is tired and in some need of regular maintenance. Nice for a break. Not great for hotel social activities. It's better suited for some alone time.
Be warned that you can't really see the beach for the nice expansive lawn in front of it so don't go expecting to relax by the pool with ocean views. Every villa has its own pool so if you are okay with some private - non ocean time, you'll be fine.
Due to COVID no5 be able to travel a board therefore I have decided to go sanya, Conrad is the convenient hotel only with villas. Less people, more space and natural environment, Had excellent lunch and dinner in Lachine (#Lachine ), couple times had room service breakfast excellent a specially by the pool in the morning. Thank you for housekeeping much detailed. I booked Willa in a first line to beach side than easy to enter the beach or public pool.
I stay in one bedroom. Villa with private pool I must say was a amazing experience. Cleanliness, detail of luxury was great, they have Conrad butler services 24hours it is very convenient. Hotel was almost full I have not see anybody around. Space is quite big therefore I felt luxury. Breakfast was rich and tasty. Restaurant managers Alan and Lucky helped me to enjoy every breakfast. I had dinner in Chinese restaurant I strongly suggest try their chicken you will thank to me however you have to wait 30 min to prepared but worth it. Thank you for all Conrad team excellent and memorable stay .
I had opportunity stay in Conrad haightanbay which I fall in love For this hotel. A specially during pandemic period it is super safe to have your own villa with all personalized services. Breakfast was great allot of choice for Chinese and western part, private poll was super good. Had opportunity had one dinner in Chinese restaurant met with chef Alan which quite experience chef with original taste of China dinner was super tasty love the chicken dish. Checkin and check out was very attentive lobby and lobby terrace perfect for cigar and evening dinner I must mentioned manager Alan who is personally taking care every customer bravo....
Quiet & peaceful place to relax. Private pool in the villa is a bit cool during sundown since it is not heated. Bathroom is first class fit for a king. Staff was always helpful. A bit inconvenient to the front reception but a call would get us a ride in their electric club cars.
Good attentive housekeeping with WeChat butler service.
F&B options limited and quality of breakfast very mediocre. Adequate but not Hilton standard that I have seen elsewhere.
Asked about family theme package (with tent or kids amenities) but was told they do not have any.
Was told during check in that I was upgraded to sea front villa which seems to be a mistake because I DID book a sea front villa. That wasn’t an upgrade....
Had lunch at the same restaurant where we had breakfast and the lights were out and there was only 2 families including us. It was 1pm and we thought it was odd the restaurant seems closed for business although they did take our orders. We took up the staff recommendation of a pizza and paella and was surprised when the bill came for 700 RMB... that’s USD 100 for a regular pizza and a paella. The paella cost RMB 500. We just shook our heads and signed the bill.
Order room service. Food is not great but acceptable and won’t be surprised by the bill.
One interesting observation: one day we were recommended a villa seafood bbq package which my wife paid upfront via WeChat instead of letting us sign to the room bill. During checkout I was informed that that expenditure cannot be counted towards my Hilton points. That’s about USD 300 of spending that is not allowed to accrue to Hilton points. Why? I suspect F&B spending goes to local owner of the hotel which sort of explains why F&B experience is so substandard.
Overall adequate experience but could have done so much better with F&B for a Hilton establishment.
My baby and I just couldn’t get tired of playing at the private swimming pool in our villa, big enough for exercise or fun, right temperature with spacious room. Staff was ready to help us at any time, and even when going around the villa at night can be a little scary as per the solitude on the roads between the villas, we always where just a call away to hop in their club cars. Room service was a bit slow but they delivered tasty, fresh food.
This hotel promotes the fact that it's one of the oldest on the Haitang Bay Strip (including ~10 other 4/5 star hotels now)....and it shows.
Come here for the villas with private plunge pools - at least the weekend I was in town, these seemed to be selling at rates similar to what a basic room cost at one of the most expensive choices (The Edition), and only a couple hundred more than many of the other hotels.
But otherwise everything after that is a bit of a let-down, and probably needs some help to meet what the Conrad brand is aiming to be. The age certainly shows in the dinged-up fixtures, drained/empty pools, closed restaurants, and the overall decor seems like 1990s US luxury / 2000s China. It wasn't dirty or uncomfortable at all - just not what you'd expect from Hilton's high-end brand. Similarly, the breakfast was underwhelming - honestly one of the poorest/most limited I can remember having in a 5-star Western brand hotel in China in a while. And you could just kind of tell the hotel may not have cared anymore - not a lot of effort put into the presentation with bowls and power cords just sitting out. The room service menu was more-than-criminally overpriced - we actually stayed one night at the Intercontinental 3 km up the street, and noted some of the dishes were half the price (we had a credit we needed to use at the Hilton - otherwise just use Meituan/ele.me for delivery).
After walking around several other Haitang Bay hotels, and staying at the Intercontinental as well, it seems over-building is a bit of a theme - and places struggling to keep up and adapt to Chinese guests who don't use the features Western designers may have expected (eg, poolside bars, beaches). But this hotel seems to be struggling more than others...I would be surprised to see it stay a Conrad for more than a few more years...
The hotel needs some upgrades in its facilities.
In August we found a closed restaurante not known when booking.
Almost only chinese tourists, that is ok, (we were 2 foreigners) the difficulty colud e the staff: most of them didn't spoke english but they allways sorted out a solution with a colleague.
The staff was very nice and allways trying to please.
The chinese restaurante is very good.
Breakfast with a huge variety of excelente food.
We stayed at this Conrad for 5 days. The place is quite with reasonable view. The butler service is friendly and helpful. Staff at the entrance, breakfast restaurant and the bar are very warm and kind. It was a satisfactory stay. The only thing is about the setup of these villa, they are kind of far away from the beach. Even with the front row, very little of the ocean can be seen.
I traveled to Sanya with my girlfriend and stayed in this Conrad. Everything is great and within my expectation, except that Haitang Bay is a little bit far from the airport, which would take you 45 min. This Conrad is located in a resort zone consisting of maybe 10+ hotels. You can enjoy everything within the resort. There is no need to go outside. (Actually you can find nothing nearby except the tax-free shopping mall and a food plaza)
We decided to hop on a short flight from HK to sanya for our wedding anniversary getaway.
Good point is Conrad honored our Hilton Honors Diamond status and upgraded us from our garden view pool villa to Beachfront pool villa.
We prebooked a return airport transfer after the hotel emailed us a day before our arrival and ask us to fill in a vacation portfolio. After a few attempts to send the portfolio via email, the hotel finally received it. But confirmed a drop off service on the 6th? We were arriving on the 3rd and had booked a return. Due to it being China, our gmail wasnt working well. Our flight arrived at 1245pm with no driver or hotel staff to greet us on arrival. So we got a cab ourselves and got to the hotel.
Check in consists of 2 desks with many guests waiting to check in. I don't know how they can cope when it is peak season. We decided to hop on a short flight from HK to sanya for our wedding anniversary getaway.

No mentioned of our missing driver. Anyway I dropped them and email to ask them to cancel our return trip since they were so unreliable.
Anyway the villa was lovely abeit abit old and lots of stained furniture and wall. Overall it was still a good value for money. Curious though there were no pool towels thought maybe they have forgotten but no replacement the next few days we were there after housekeeping was there. Extra pillows that were requested was also ignored. And no turndown service at 5 star hotel?
All of which could be overlooked till you see the 3 star service we received at the restaurants. Three nights we went to Teatro for dinner, only ones there. Hapharzard service. First dinner, no napkins till asked we got paper towels. Bread and butter on first night but nothing on the next 2 nights. Napkins on second night and again no napkins on last night. Service is really hit and miss.
Anyway the hotel staff called to explain what happened to our airport transfer, driver lost his hotel card so no way for us to identify him. so they gave us a complimentary drop off at the airport.Little consolation for the whole stay.
We were just back from Hawaii at the beginning of April and stayed at the Hawaiian village which is a huge setting in comparison but they got everything so right that all the memories we had was the great view and good holiday memories. In contrast to conrad, a supposedly upmarket brand of Hilton group, all we got was a lacklustre stay, with a sour taste on our tongues.
Would we return? I don't think so, there was no activities unlike other resorts like Banyan Tree etc. We travel 6 to 7 times a year on holidays similar to this....5 star resort where we can relax but this conrad is certainly no 5 star. The hardware yes but everything else is at the most a 3 star. And other than us, everyone else was domestic tourists which reflects on the lack of reviews on TripAdvisor.
