the view was incredible, and the staff were SO nice. Unfortunately those were the only two positives.
Our experience here was awful, unfortunately - and we left early, sacrificing the remainder of our payment. The cleanliness and hygiene in the hotel is really bad. Our room had cockroaches every day. There was no water on our first day, and the hotel staff didn't respond when we reached out concerned about it (we couldn't flush toilet, shower, wash our hands, nothing). When the water finally came back on, it was cold water only - no hot or even warm-ish showers, only cold. The pool was so dirty and cloudy that you couldn't see the bottom of it - so there was definitely no going in the pool. And, there was no restaurant on site, despite there being a mention of it on the website - so we were kind of screwed for the meals we'd planned to eat during our stay, especially since we didn't have a car. And, the TV didn't work either. The community kitchen was disgusting - no dishsoap, plates of moldy food left on the counter, no functioning sink or microwave. For the price of $100+ a night, we had expected at a minimum that we'd have a clean room with running water and semi-hot showers. If the price had been $15 a night, I wouldn't complain. The fact that they took payment up front meant that we were screwed when we decided to leave early because we couldn't handle the conditions here anymore.
Breakfast was simple and hardy. Staff always went over and above. If you are a climber you’ll appreciate this place.
Friendly attentive staff. Breakfast was fresh and fantastic. The hotel is right outside of the park so it is very conveniently located. Great views from the balcony. Swimming pool on site. Communal kitchen.
No potable water but bottles available to purchase.
Vista is practically in Potrero Chico. The staff were friendly, and I felt safe. Breakfast (eggs with ham, chorizo, or veggies and beans) was good. The rooms were nice enough. It’s expensive for the area, but it was a solid comfortable option. I would not want to camp here.
Great location and views from some of the rooms. It was empty. A little noisy at night (not from the hotel itself but from the neighboring areas).
Friendly breakfast.
I describe it as rustic.
If you are climbing, the location is excellent - much closer than Sendero. The only drawback was a weekly Sunday night gathering in the parking lot across from the hotel, with at least 200 people drinking and playing music as loud as possible and not the same music. The good news on that score is suddenly at 10 pm it stopped and everyone left.
The heater in our first room didn't work; fortunately, we were able to move to a good room the next night where the heater worked. Breakfast starts at 9; however, they accommodated us, when we got an early start. Booking.com indicated there were baths; there are not. Booking.com also indicated that the restaurant had dinner. It doesn't. 3 times in our two week stay there was no hot water; however, when I asked we had it shortly afterwards. The last 3 days the room wasn't cleaned (this matters because you can't flush the toilet paper anywhere in the area). Finally, one of the dogs there barked half the night a couple of nights in a row and a wedding group partied until 4:30 in the morning.
Location was excellent and close to the canyon
Very little soundproofing
We like to make this a scenic stop when driving between central Mexico and the US with our dogs. The breakfast is delicious. The view is spectacular.
Room and bed were comfortable, staff was extremely nice and always helpful. Location can't be beat, closest accommodations to the park and climbing. Will definitely stay here again when we return to El Potrero Chico.
This is as close as tou can get to EPC, so very convenient for climbers. Staff was friendly and provided excellent service. I wish the wifi worked in the room.
puedo asegurar que quizá sea el reciento con mejor vista a las montañas del lugar,
incluia almuerzo y estaba delicioso,
el recibimiento por parte del personal fue de maravilla.
