Green light in ceiling fitting directly over bed interrupted sleeping. Sensor kept turning light on outside room which could be seen under door and interrupted sleeping. Shower cubicle grouting and seals around door need deep clean. Decorative cushions worn at each corner. Not worthy of room cost other than for location at short notice. Disappointing.
The hotel, staff, restaurant and location are excellent
However the rooms facing the lane are extremely noisy... we were woken up at 7.30am by loud truck deliveries and garbage trucks... and late at night, the hotel staff would gather and talk loudly just below the hotel room windows.
Also, the hotel has no parking, so you either have to be lucky and get a spot on the street in front of the hotel, or pay to park in the lot up the hill.
Other than the noise and parking, everything else was great.
No parking and expensive but overall a nice place to stay
Bit disappointed with noise at 7am in morning with deliveries just outside of window
Otherwise hotel and restaurant very much enjoyed
Location was spectacular. Great view from the patio and restaurant. Short walk down to the beach. The view overlooked all of Polzeath Beach and cove.
The food was hit and miss. We had a great starter, but both of our pasta dishes were undercooked (not close to al dente). The place was very busy and it seemed like the manager/owner was juggling multiple roles (manager, host, waiter, etc.)
The room was clean and nicely appointed. However, there were multiple doors to push through in the hallways which made trekking your luggage to your room a bit challenging. Much easier when they were propped open. Overall it was a nice stay. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Fantastic hotel, beautiful if you get to sit outside the front, and watch the sunsetting
Room and hotel felt like an upper class premier inn, was a little disappointed and there was no where to eat in the evening only the hotel’s restaurant, breakfast was lovely
Had a lovely stay. For the price, would have expected slightly more premium furnishings and facilities. But had a great stay!
my 3rd year of staying here, i will be back next year!!
Nice place but we got stuck in a wheelchair accessible room the first night although they did make the effort to move us for the second night. Also note that it's a 10 minute drive round from town as there is no link between hotel and town except shopping the beach....
Superb location, great condition, friendly staff. We will be back
The room was ok. Paid extra for a twin bed room. Paid £145 was told if l had booked direct to hotel, that room was £45.
Outstanding service, lovely hotel in a good location.
This hotel is beautifully presented being very clean, comfortable and modern. Furnished and decorated to a high standard with superb customer service and friendly staff. If you have a Sea View Room the Sun Sets are amazing but if not you can sit on the terrace of the highly recommended Atlantic Restaurant. We only stayed for the one night for a quick getaway at the beginning of Winter and would definitely go back again.
The room was clean, wellmaintained and comfrtable . The hotel communal areas were spotless.
Food in restaurant was good. All the staff were efficient friendly and helpful
beautiful hotel in a lovely location. Food was delicious and staff were very helpful. If we are ever in the area again we would happily chose to come back here
The hotel is in an excellent location, overlooking the beach at Polzeath. Our hotel room looked out the back rather than over the sea view, which I think, maybe, all the hotel rooms do and the apartments have the sea view. We had the lowest grade of room as we booked late and that was all that was available. A King Room, I think. The room is on the small side but we only noticed this when we first arrived. We stayed for 3 nights and it was never a problem. The rooms and the hotel as a whole are spotlessly clean with a fresh smell and look to the whole place. The room has a Nespresso machine and a mini fridge, two little extras that were appreciated. Bed was comfortable. There are shutters rather than curtains - we liked these. We were booked on a Room Only basis but this in fact includes a light buffet breakfast (coffee, cereal, pastries, toast, fruit, yogurt). This was plenty for us but there are hot options and speciality coffees available at a cost. We were not made aware of the included breakfast, we just found out by chance when we asked a question about buying breakfast. I think the inclusive breakfast is only available to hotel room guests rather than apartment guests. We were called ahead of our arrival to tell us our room was ready for us ahead of the specified check in time. We were not surfing etc but there is access to a board, wetsuit storage facility. The staff were really friendly. We will definitely be returning.
Fantastic location. Walk to the beach and restaurants. Quiet, scenic neighborhood. Clean and new. If breakfast were included, it would have been perfect. But considering the reasonable price, no breakfast was understandable. And there was coffee, tea, and bottled water in the room.
Fabulous location
Spotlessly clean
first class , this is the second time i have stayed at Polzeath Beach House and cant recommend it enough, see you next year!
