Spacious and clean room with great location in the city. A lot of great food and shops within walking distance. The art and books were my favorite decorative touch. The entire staff was super polite and accommodating, they gave great recommendations for places to eat/things to do. The morning breakfast delivery every morning was nice.
The thermostat in the room was pretty outdated/difficult to work for such a nice hotel.
we live on Hilton Head Island and know a great "stay and play" experience : ) the hotel is amazing. right in the middle of downtown, great shops and restaurants, etc., valet service was perfect (opened doors, and had our vehicle ready in just minutes every time we sent the text. the "draftsmen" downstairs play room is fantastic also…don't miss it!
We had a wonderful New Year stay here. Came for the race and felt so welcome! Glenn at the The Rise (coffee shop inside the hotel) made amazing coffee for us and was so kind. If you’re in town you should stop by!
I had a wonderful stay at The Restoration Asheville. The location is fantastic and very walkable to restaurants and shopping. Valet service was quick and helpful, and the lobby and overall design are beautiful. The front desk staff were welcoming and knowledgeable—Derek truly went above and beyond to make the stay special.
The room was comfortable and well appointed, and the bed was excellent. I did experience a minor TV issue, but the staff handled it professionally and offered solutions. The morning picnic basket breakfast and daily wine and charcuterie social hour were such thoughtful, charming touches. While the restaurant itself is lovely, the dining experience didn’t quite stand out—but this didn’t detract from an otherwise great stay. I would happily return and recommend this hotel.
Attention to detail seems to be missing at this property.
For example the top shelf of the “closet” had tons of dust on it which then got our bags dirty when we placed them there. Our room mirror was installed poorly and was not vertical which you noticed every time you looked at it.
Our room door of 406 would not latch creating a major security and safety concern we noticed on the 3rd day. We have no idea if it had been that way since we arrived. It took over 6 hours after notifying front desk to have the issue resolved with multiple follow ups with the person on duty. Once issue was resolved there was no notification or acknowledgement from management the issue had been resolved leaving us to wonder if our room was secure as we were away from the property. It was especially unsettling as there was no in room safe for our electronics which is really unacceptable for a four star hotel.
We would often walk by the coffee counter where the baristas would be chatting with themselves without even making eye contact with us as guests much less saying good morning. One morning one of them was literally laying his body across the counter while he played on his phone which was very unprofessional. Yet many times after walking by the staff that looked board and careless, there would be empty cups, napkins and other trash on the tables in the lobby that guests had left behind. Just gave the impression no one really cared about keeping the lobby tidy.
The valets on the other hand were very friendly, attentive, gracious at welcoming guests to the property and helping with bags and vehicles.
We had reserved premium rooms but were disappointed to find they faced the rear parking garage and not the square in front of the hotel. We wish this would have been better described in the room details online.
The mini bar had a great selection at very reasonable prices. Was nice that there was space in the fridge for a few personal things.
Location was great with easy access to explore downtown and beyond.
Room walls are lacking any insulation and so noise and conversations could easily be heard from the room next door. For a newer property, this was really disappointing and impacted our ability to get good sleep.
Overall we had a nice stay, but would struggle recommending this property for future stays.
Highly recommend The Restoration. Absolutely the perfect hotel when traveling to Asheville. We will definitely be back.
The Restoration made my husband's birthday so special and Derek at the front went ABOVE and beyond to help us. They have a complementary cocktail hour, beautiful rooms and a downstairs with games and live music. We almost couldn't celebrate and the team made it happen for us. Highly recommend and will be back!
Chelcie and Emma were on point. Service smiles along with helpful guidance to the area. Our drinks and entrees were delicious. They provided exactly what you expect from a nice restaurant/ bar. Professional.
The rooms are well appointed and the beds are comfortable. My main issues were that the road noise is very loud. Because the building is old and brick there isn’t much insulation. Every loud muffler we heard. Every time the fire department close by turned on their sirens it sounded like it was in the room. We heard the old couple next to us talking as well. We heard every detail of their conversations. Their tv was cranked way up until 11:30pm both nights we were there so we had to wait to go to sleep when they did. It wasn’t their fault I just think they were old and hard of hearing. The hotel didn’t have any sleepy teas available nor were there any ear plugs in the room which would have been a nice inexpensive touch. They also had their only night life closed for a private party which I get but the lack of communication was really disappointing because we could have gone the first night we were there if we had known the bar would be closed on the second night. We ended up just hanging out in the room. I nicely offered my feedback to management to help them elevate their hotel and was slightly disappointed that they were just “sorry”. I don’t expect them to jump over the moon for my feedback but it would have been nice if they had offered something to get me to come back and try the hotel again. With them being priced about the same as the Inn at Biltmore, I will chose the Inn at Biltmore next time, because my experience there was much more enjoyable, luxurious, and peaceful.
One of the best hotels I have ever experienced. Staff is incredible - friendly, professional, graceful. The true definition of a luxury stay. Do not hesitate to book here - it's worth it!
Beautiful hotel, friendly and welcoming staff plus a few complimentary surprises that made the stay extra enjoyable.
This hotel did not disappoint! It was beautiful, clean comfortable and the staff were all very helpful and the service was impeccable.
Food was great. The burger and truffle fries in the Watch Kitchen was perfect after a long day of driving.
The breakfast baskets were cute and were enough to get you going in the morning. The observatory bar on the roof was beautiful and relaxing.
The Dutchman bar down stairs was a great place to hang out, play some games and listen to some music.
The coffee in the rooms was awesome smooth and rich.
Social hour was just the right way to slow down and transition to evening activities.
Enjoyed a steak in the room the last night it was flavorful and cooked perfectly.
Valet was well worth it! Matt and Rick were quick and helpful getting our truck. If you have ever tried to park a big truck anywhere in Asheville you’ll understand this made the visit way less stressful.
My only suggestion would be QR codes that would bring you to menus and events.
My only regret is we had to venture to other places and I would have liked to just enjoy the hotel more!
My husband & I booked a weekend getaway to Asheville and we chose the perfect hotel! Restoration checked every box.
Location:
Right in the heart of downtown. In walking distance to all the stores.
Staff:
So friendly, helpful and inclusive. Whenever we asked a question, the front desk or doormen always had a smile.
Hotel room:
We booked the premium room. The room is so lovely, well appointed and very large! Bed was super comfortable. Super clean room as well. No carpet in the room which I love.
The bathroom is huge as well. My one and only complaint is the farm door in the bathroom which doesn’t give you total privacy. You can pretty much hear everything the other person is doing in there. I wish the hotel invested in actual doors that close and provide total privacy.
Amenities:
Every morning you get a little breakfast basket with yogurt & a pastry that’s left outside of your door. Such a nice little touch.
There’s a bar downstairs that plays live music on the weekends. The games down there are free to use.
You also get 10% off at the coffee bar if you’re a guest.
Loved our stay! Would recommend to anyone who asks.
From check-in to check-out we had an amazing experience. Vibes galore! The rooms are also very spacious. The staff, especially Derek S., was so patient, polite, and helpful. I loved the layout of the hotel and the room. Every staff member that we encountered was very very nice. The location is great and we will definitely be back for another visit!
This is akin to a large boutique hotel! I travel quite often but found that there were many extra special details that made it comfortable and welcoming. The choice of dining venues is excellent.
Sending a little breakfast basket is a cute idea but skip the cold egg fritata thing and replace it with a fluffy biscuit or muffin.
Highest marks in rvery catagory! One of our new favorites anywhere! Great location, inspiringly beautiful and comfy, but what sets it apart is the beyond expectations servive!!! They make it clear in every possible way that you are welcome and they want us here as guests!
We absolutely loved everything about the hotel! The room, the service, decoration , all high quality. Derek was great!
