Great location with easy access to metro
Nothing. I didn't manage to get into the property due to the issues I encountered.
The access code did not work, leaving me locked outside late at night with no staff available to help. Several suspicious individuals were always hanging outside the entrance and one followed me inside claiming to be staying in my room, which made the situation feel unsafe and prevented me from accessing the room. I contacted both the property and support multiple times but did not receive proper assistance, was left waiting late at night, and ultimately had to find alternative accommodation at my own expense. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the property has not taken responsibility or issued a refund. This is a serious safety risk and I strongly recommend future guests be cautious before booking.
Locatie was prima
2 min a pé do metrô.
Clean, modern apartment, good price for proximity to train and in a walkable neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, Trader Joes, etc. True, you can hear the subway but that is the price you pay for a Manhattan view and it's NY, so I don't expect quiet.
It was kind of hard to find the 'Hotel' entry since there is no sign and there are a bunch of businesses on the ground level. The code is also kind of long to have to enter for main door, elevator, room door...
Spacious and convenient
Check in was horrible.
First they didn’t give me the check in code even when I have asked them multiple times before arriving. And no one was at the lobby so I couldn’t get in, and I have to call them to get the code.
Then they gave me wrong room type. I called them and let them know then they sent me to another room which is still the wrong room type. It took 3 tries to get me the room type that I booked.
Peace and quiet
We chose this because of its location. EFG7 trains are all within 5 mins walking distance. Can get to Williamsburg or Manhattan in less than 5 stops. Excellent restaurants, supermarkets, coffee shops and wine shops close by. Units have practical layouts
When it was part of Sonder, the customer service was great. With the current management, it doesn’t exist. There is a NY phone number one can call but everyone who answered clearly doesn’t understand the property or understand the culture. We called to ask for a box of Kleenex and a roll of toilet paper. We had to spell Kleenex and explained what that is for the one who was on the phone. At the end, we did not get those two items but we got a roll of Paper Towel, that is used for the kitchen (see picture). Throughout our 5-day stay, we did not see anyone cleaning the public hallway, building entrance etc etc. This is now run very differently than Sonder.
AWFUL
The only thing about this stay that wasn't disappointing is the area of this hotel. I've lived in NYC for over a decade and Long Island City/Court Square is my favorite neighborhood. It's close enough to several trains and buses without hearing the noise of them pass by, some of the best asian restaurants around, shopping choices, a park, and it's quiet and safe enough to stroll without a set destination.
Check-in details didn't arrive until 5pm (an hour after the hotel's check-in time). There were 10 luggage lockers in the lobby, but 7 of them had broken locks—including all of the larger sized lockers, and no storage alternatives. I received the wrong access code multiple times and was locked outside of the hotel waiting for customer service to answer the phone to provide me with the correct passcode—this happened most notably upon arrival and when returning to retrieve my luggage. The wifi was unreliable and down for a day during my stay. Communication from the hotel leading up to and throughout my stay was scarce.
The worst experience so far. Never book this
Only the location if someone wants to be near Manhattan. But note that it is right in front of the train station so there is a lot of noise.
This is not a hotel. These are apartments and that should be clearly specified. I was traveling with a toddler and I was looking for an actual hotel, with the 24hr staff in premises and the in room service. This wasn't that. It is just a building with apartments and if there wasn't a random person inside to open the door, I would have been stuck with a sleeping toddler in my arms under the rain. So, I strongly believe that they are misrepresenting the service.
stayed here for a total of 4 nights. I originally booked for 2 nights but had to extend twice (one night each time) because my flight was delayed.
The Good:
• The Location: Perfect for exploring the city. It’s in Queens, literally one subway stop from Manhattan. The building is very close to the station, and you can be in Manhattan in about 10 minutes.
• The Apartments: While the building itself is quite old, the apartments inside seem to have been recently renovated. They were very clean and well-equipped with everything you need.
The Bad:
The biggest issue is that this is a "staffless" hotel managed entirely remotely. There is no one on-site. Everything—from the front door to the elevator and your room—is operated by a digital code.
Because I extended my stay, my codes failed me three different times. I found myself stuck outside the building or my room, trying to explain the situation to a remote support team in India. It was incredibly frustrating to be stranded for 30 minutes at a time just trying to get back into my own room.
Verdict: Great if you want a clean, well-located apartment, but a complete nightmare if your digital code has any issues. The lack of on-
