Security guards, drivers and cleaning ladies were all very nice
The receptionists speak very bad English. There was always an issue when we tried to wash our clothes, since the washing machine was located in a laundry. Getting the key of the laundry was a project, it took up to an hour to get it. Why do you even lock the laundry, what am I going to steal from there, a washing machine??? We stayed 1 week and in all this time nobody cared to take out our trash or change the towels.
The room was well appointed, even a couple of beers and soda in the fridge when I arrived.
Beach club was satisfactory.
I had to give a $100 CASH deposit when I arrived. It took me over 1/2 hour to get it back at the end.I was in a bed that was covered in part by a Bunk Bed! I had to sleep with my head under the bunk bed, and I did knock my head more than once. Sofa was very uncomfortable. It was the only seating available other than the dining set. There are little to no amenities nearby. A small pool was outside my building, the larger pool was about a one-block walk. No way to purchase drinks or snacks anywhere close by. Had to wait (short time) for Golf Cart Shuttle to the beach club, or walk 15 minutes to get there. Restaurant at beach was without food service one day and closed for a party on my last day. Beach was littered with bottles and trash on first day, but cleaned up later. Closest restaurant from room was a 15 minute walk, others were in other resorts within another 15 minute walk or so. The "Jack Tar" restaurant was nearly empty, not particularly good food and mediocre service. The "mall" was about a 20 minute walk and did have an ATM, souvenir shops, but no real grocery. I had to spend $25 R/T to go to the local Jumbo grocery to buy soda and snacks for the room. Getting in to Puerta Plata was $10-15, I used a local app that allows you to offer a price for the ride and drivers will accept or counter offer. Puerta Plata is dull as dishwater, a totally Cruise Line made up tourist trap. If you go during the day, there is about a 2 block area that has people and touristy things to take your $$$, but go a block away, even down to the famous Malecon, and restaurants are empty, even on a Friday night! I went there 3 times and was disappointed each time. A longer trip ($25-$35) to Sosua allowed me to see people and have a wide option of restaurants. Plus all the street hookers, but the Police are keeping them back mostly. Leo's Banana is worth going to as it is the only place to sit with a view.
The location and the cleanliness.
The air conditioning didn’t work in one of the guest rooms, and the front porch light didn’t work.
Definitivamente volveremos.
Todo excelente.
Me gustó el apto super cómodo y limpio
