The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are comfotrable and the location is prime. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nice pool and fire pits
Not really walkable to town.
Very clean. Friendly, Courteous staff. Excellent location. Great outdoor area and pool.
Small fridge without a freezer section. No chairs or small table to use on the balcony.
Great place !! Stay here Every time I'm in Bardstown
Cute and great location friendly staff
Wonderful place to stay!!! Charming decor, very clean and, Malery is the best! I will stay here again soon!!
A renovated motor lodge with several charming ammenities. The suite we stayed in was roomy and styled so cute. Our suite had a separate "living room" area with a small table and chairs for dining or cards, a large sofa and side chair, a large-screen TV, a wet bar area with an undercounter fridge, and a door out to the courtyard area. Our king bed was very comfortable, like a firmer featherbed! No closet, but a luggage stand with a hanging bar/hangers. the bedroom had a large vanity with a coffee maker (Keurig) a microwave, and another undercounter fridge. The bedroom could be separated from the TV viewing area with a barn door. The bathroom had a walk-in shower. The bathroom sink was retro farmhouse style with no counter, but there was a shelf to the left of it. The one thing I didn't like is that the bathroom also had a barn door. Not the best for privacy, if you know what I mean! Other than that the place was great and we would stay there again, for sure!
We wanted to experience Old Bardstown. We selected the motor Lodge as part of that. The room is very comfortable, the beds are very comfy, and the bathrooms have been updated. Malary was running in the front desk, she was fantastic and made the stay even more enjoyable. The next time we come to Bardstown we will probably stay here again.
The Lodge was utterly delightful. From the quiet rooms to the welcoming courtyard (with s'mores fixings!) I had a lovely quiet retreat. Staff was responsive, the rooms were comfortable, and the pool was just what I wanted after a day.
The walls are a bit thin, so when there are festivities in the courtyard, they are definitely noticeable. But the group there the last night I was there shut down reasonably, so all was ok.
I stayed here for a bartender event and let me tell you - the staff went above and beyond. I think it’s a great place in that it’s comfortable, the beds were very comfortable, it’s not fancy or pretentious, but it meets all your needs. I really enjoyed the pool, the fire pits at night, the food at Toogie’s Table was excellent. Liz and Amy took great care of everyone at Breakfast! I would absolutely stay here again and can’t wait to come back.
I want to love this hotel so bad. We have an event that puts us in Bardstown in June every year. It looks great; it should be great.
The good: comfy beds, convenient location, good value, fire pit and smores in evening.
The bad: something is always inevitably wrong. And could have been avoided. One year we opened our sleeper sofa to find unchanged sheets. Consistently, the floors leave your feet black on the bottom (just mop!). Many reviewers note AC issues. This could be improved by better seals around door to keep humidity out. Bathrooms do not have exhaust fans, exacerbating humidity issue. The bathtubs are in dire need of non-slip traction strips. Restaurant and pool bar seem to have different hours than what is advertised. I would say once in awhile is fine but we have visited here 3 years in a row and never know what will be open. Most recently, the pool was closed. There were no signs denoting pool closure. Gates were not locked either, which made us believe the pool many open soon. Management never gave an answer on when it would reopen.
Overall the discounted rate we paid was worth it, but at full price, you will leave feeling disappointed. Management should tighten up if they want this place to be successful.
This place has so much potential. It is disappointing to see it ran this way.
I selected this motel because of all the great reviews for customer service and the nice outdoor area with a pool. I even called to confirm my reservation and that the pool would be open a week before since I booked through Tripadvisor. Unfortunately, after we checked in we were informed of the pool being closed due to an incident from the weekend before. I was very disappointed to say the least (closed pools seem to be a theme for us on trips). The ladies at the check-in desk were very apologetic about the pool. These nice ladies were able to contact Toogie’s Table (must try) and have a dinner credit available for us that evening with our reservation. The room was very nice and everything you might need was provided. They had a great area in the patio with chairs and fire pits. They offered everything needed for s’mores as well once the fire pits were lit.
(Side Note to management: don’t leave it to your staff to be the bearer of bad news to guests about issues with your pool when you have known about it for at least a week. A phone call to your upcoming guests would have been appreciated. This would have changed our plans for this trip.)
Quiet, clean room.
Pet friendly was a must.
Nice staff.
I chose the Bardstown Motor Lodge because of its location and its cool courtyard. It was rainy when we visited but the courtyard was set up for little bonfires with chairs around. The room was decorated so cool and it was very comfortable. We were able to walk to downtown Bardstown with no problem. There was plenty of parking for our rental car and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
The office was not manned all the time, but the staff we talked to were very helpful and friendly.
Great atmosphere. Nice Rooms
The staff was awesome and very accommodating.
Motel is not as pictured. Rooms look like a college dorm room, very poor-quality furniture. The air conditioner was mounted in the celling and spewed dust all over everything. The floors are linoleum and were sticky. At 2:00 AM some weird electronic bird noise started and went until about 6:00 AM, then someone repeatedly tried to enter our room. We got up, dressed and left without showering. The outdoor area was nice but all the chairs were wet and no one had dried them. Cannot recommend this motel.
