Stunning Setting, Disappointing Service
Pros:

Stunning Setting, Disappointing Service

Sant Efis is, without a doubt, a visually stunning hotel. The setting is gorgeous, the grounds are beautifully maintained, and the food was genuinely delicious. However, our experience was significantly let down by the attitude and professionalism of several staff members.

From the moment we arrived, the general vibe was one of disinterest—as if our presence was an inconvenience rather than a valued part of their business. Hospitality felt like an afterthought. It’s incredibly disappointing to feel unwelcome in a place of this calibre, especially given its reputation and price point.

We also encountered an issue with the air conditioning in our room. The initial response from reception was almost laughable: we were told the AC wasn’t working properly because we had “booked the wrong room type” for two adults and a 5-year-old child. It turns out the real issue was that the filters were simply dirty. While someone did eventually come to clean them, the unit stopped working again shortly after. At that point, we gave up trying to have it resolved—something that should never happen at a hotel of this standard.

As for the staff, there were clear contrasts. One woman stood out for her warmth and professionalism—she should absolutely be recognised and promoted for her exceptional guest service. In stark contrast, one male staff member seemed more interested in strutting around than assisting guests. His attitude was dismissive at best, and unprofessional at worst. First impressions also matter, and unfortunately, the heavily tattooed male receptionist, our first point of contact, set the wrong tone with his aloof manner and lack of basic courtesy. Front desk staff should make guests feel welcome—not like they’re interrupting their day.

It’s a shame that such a beautiful place is let down by poor service. With proper staff training and a serious reassessment of frontline personnel, this hotel could truly offer the luxury experience it visually promises.

Idyllic garden paradise in beautiful Sardinian location.
Pros:

We stayed in Sant'Efis Hotel in May and it was perfect. Garden, picture perfect hotel with lovely coastline. Rooms clean and cool. Suitable for couples on their own or with children. Ideal location near the lovely town of Pula and ancient town of Nora. Hotel staff were generally welcoming but one staff member particularly shone, Hadeer. She handled everything professionally, diligently and always with a smile.
If there was one thing I would improve it would be the coffee service at breakfast which had to be ordered from the waiting staff. On busy mornings orders could take a longtime or forgotten altogether.

Disappointing Stay Despite Stunning Setting
Pros:

We booked Sant Efis to end our Sardinian honeymoon on a high, but it sadly turned out to be the most disappointing hotel of our trip .

The gardens and beachfront are beautiful, and the hotel looks the part at first glance. But our room was small, poorly soundproofed, and overlooked a car park, not a garden. Privacy was lacking, and the noise from neighbouring guests — particularly a disruptive family — made relaxation impossible. Despite raising concerns, staff offered no real solution, and there was no follow-up from management.

Service was inconsistent, from inattentive staff at times to odd policies like being unable to order the same wine from the bar that’s served at lunch. Housekeeping details (e.g. bedsheets with holes) fell far below expectations for the €500+/night rate.

On the plus side, the restaurant has a lovely setting and some meals were enjoyable. Snorkelling and peaceful moments in the gardens were highlights — when things were quiet.

Ultimately, Sant Efis offers style over substance. It leans on its location but fails to deliver the basics: comfort, quiet, and guest care. We expected more from a hotel in this price and rating bracket.

Tip : this hotel is more geared towards families than couples and those travelling with young children may appreciate the environment offered.

Pretty perfect Sardinian hotel
Pros:

Lots to say about this wonderful hotel that pleasantly surprised us. It is a stunning small resort right on the beach that is very well run and very well kept. It was our second hotel on this trip and the minute we walked through the grounds, we looked at each other and said we're not going anywhere and spending all of our time at the hotel. I mean it was just everything we dreamed for our Sardinian holiday. Firstly we must discuss the hotel grounds. The gardens are stunning. It's obvious they were created by a talented landscaper and they are also beautifully maintained. So many gorgeous spots to enjoy with a wide variety of vegetation that blend together to create the most beautiful outdoor spaces to enjoy all your days in. The grounds are so well maintained, and attendants were constantly tidying up after guests through rotations of lounge chair use, etc. throughout the day. There are TWO gorgeous pools. I don't quite understand why there are two pools, but there are, and they are both amazing and have their own feel. And both exceptionally well maintained and clean! I really appreciated that. We simply could not decide which one was best and enjoyed time at both. The vibe of the hotel is very chill. No loud music, just wonderfully relaxed and serene. At the end of the second pool you come to the hotel's restaurant, Don Carlo. We ate four delicious and varied meals there. I cannot tell you how wonderful the food was, all so good and a good variety for many meals. And the setting is absolutely stunning right on the beach, perfectly shaded at lunch and gorgeous ombre hues over the water for dinner! It does not get any better. Stepping off the back of the restaurant you land right on the gorgeous beach with a private strip of loungers and umbrellas just for the hotel guests. The beach is lovely and the water, well it's Sardinia, so it's basically perfect. Never did we have to race to get a lounge chair on the beach or either pool and this was July. Such a relaxed, well maintained, high quality and easy atmosphere. Breakfast by the first pool each morning was delightful. The assortment was very good and fresh. Especially loved the fresh orange juice, eggs and fruit. All so good. The hotel manager was visible and eager to please. She greeted us personally and inquired about any of our concerns. The lobby and other indoor/outdoor sitting spaces are just so lovely, and so plentiful. Absolutely spoilt for choice. The only downside to this hotel might be some aspects of the rooms, but you will not be spending much time in your room here! Our suite (the one on the the website listed as "Queen Suite with Pool View") is directly over the bar area and over lobby toilets. We could hear clanking, soft voices and doors shutting below us very easily. I will absolutely stay at this hotel again, but I will not stay in this room again. It might work for you if you're a heavy sleeper. The doors (behind the bar and the lobby toilets) are very loud through the floor up to this room and I was at the mercy of anyone who might be using these spaces as to how early I could fall asleep or how early I'd be woken up! The other suites would not suffer from this issue based on their position in the building. Most of the regular rooms appear to overlook parking areas only, so the views from the rooms are not why you stay here. But the rooms themselves are very nice. This hotel was everything we hoped for our Sardinian holiday. Grazie!

A peaceful, lush escape from the hustle and bustle of life.
Pros:

The hotel is truly splendid. Offering two stunning pools and a private beach, you are truly spoilt for choice on where to relax. The staff are wonderful, everyone from reception to the housekeeping staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was fabulous with a great selection of items for every taste and diet. My only two comments are about the gardens and the size of the rooms. The gardens are huge and have an incredible number of stunning plants. The issue is that the gardener does not seem able to keep up with the plants, as what should be a manicured garden is overgrown, with paths being difficult to walk through since the vegetation has taken over. My other comment is about the size of the comfort rooms; there really is no comfort in the room, as there is only space for a bed. With two people and luggage, you have a hard time getting around the room - we were always bumping into each other. With a bit more thought, the rooms could have been better laid out to accommodate a table and seating. I don't want my words to put anyone off from booking this hotel, as these are minor issues that in reality might only be relevant to me. The entire property is spotlessly clean and the location is so peaceful that this makes a perfect retreat for people looking to chill, unwind and relax.

Relaxing holiday in a lovely hotel in a great position by the beach with the most fabulous gardens. And all within walking distance of the very impressive Phoenician, Punic and Roman archaeological site at Nora.

Pros:

Alles tiptop sauber!

Paradise by the Sea
Pros:

The landscaping and views from this hotel/resort are outstanding. We did feel we were in paradise by the sea. Staff are welcoming and provide gracious service. The chef creates delicious dishes from first-rate ingredients. A car is needed to get to nearby towns though one could walk to the Nora archeological site.

Wonderful October stay
Pros:

The hotel is very nicely located with direct access to the beach, beautiful and extremely nicely maintained gardens and two very nice pools. ROoms are very clean and bed was very comfortable. The restaurant is very good with nice staff and reasonably priced (hotel guests have 15% discount on the menu). The bar on the other hand is overpriced: cocktails 20-16 € and coffee 4€ and average service. Breakfasts are good - but every day is the same choice - only some variety with the cakes (very good ones) - could have more Sardinina's specialities.

Beauty, relaxation and friendliness in a stunning gem of a hotel
Pros:

A truly beautiful hotel, very chic but also relaxing and unpretentious. We loved the stunning gardens, with wonderful plants all the way from the courtyard and reception through the Mediterranean natural gardens down to the sea. With two sparklingly clean pools and lovely private beach area to choose from, there are more than enough loungers to find a relaxing spot every day but the hotel is also only a short drive to other stunning beaches along the Southern Sardinian coast. Breakfast is very varied and generous and the Don Carlo restaurant has a beautiful position right by the sea: we had wonderfully fresh fish and ate there for all 7 days of our stay because the food was consistently excellent. But the vital compliment to the beauty and quality of the surroundings are the fantastic staff who are highly professional but still friendly and charming. Our particular thanks go to the breakfast, restaurant and pool teams who made us feel at home and it was a pleasure to see them every day. The hotel is small enough to treat its guests individually but large enough to offer all the facilities you need. Very highly recommended, we already want to go back!

Love this hotel!
Pros:

We had an amazing time at Sant Efis. The hotel is really stylish and luxurious, The staff super friendly and helpful no matter what you ask. We had our luggage missing due flight error, and we got well needed help from the reception to track our luggage and all suitcases brought to our hotel in the end. The hotel has been rewarded for the fantastic garden with 2 pools, palm trees and small hang outs around the area. Calm and peaceful, no kids and overall beautiful. We would highly recommend this hotel

Really good Pula hotel
Pros:

We were looking for a hotel on our way back to Cagliari to catch a flight after a tour of the Tuerreddia and Chia regions so we only stayed one night.
We wished we had stayed longer, as it was a real oasis.
Two beautiful pools, well landscaped with lovely plants and trees, a really tranquil change.
The rooms are really nicely decorated and comfortable.
The lobby bar and the restaurant are excellent.
Admittedly we booked last minute so the choice was limited but the superior balcony was a small space with a very small balcony over the car park and the room was a bit small.
the only other comment is that there the beach is quite narrow by local standards but super convenient.
For one night, not a problem but as, given what we thought the hotel so nice, so much more relaxing than the hotels future south we wished we could have started longer.
The staff are fabulous………
The small town of Paul is on the doorstep with restaurants and bars.
After all my stays on the coat on this region, from a hotel point of view. Very good indeed!
