Luxury accommodation for a special occasion.
Pros:

The room was beautifully presented, the added extras of festive decorations made it feel really special. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and would recommend for a special occasion.

Cons:

The water pressure could be better in the bathroom but would not deter me from staying again.

If you’re a fan of fully interactive, surround-sound hotel experiences, this might be the place for you.

The morning began with staff chatting and laughing directly outside our room as though it were Mecca Bingo on a Saturday morning - we were in the De Vere Suite and the bed is conveniently positioned right next to the door.

At precisely 7:58am, the hoovering commenced. Not gentle hoovering...the kind delivered with such passion that I briefly wondered if the aim was to remove the carpet entirely. Outstanding commitment.

This was followed by someone attempting to enter our room by turning the door handle, despite our later checkout. Nothing quite like an unsolicited handle jiggle first thing in the morning.

Shortly afterwards, there was loud shouting up the open stairway about a blocked sewage pipe, which then escalated into prolonged pipe-banging that felt less “maintenance” and more “audition for the Blue Man Group.” A bold, immersive choice. Very avant-garde.

And finally, special thanks to the couple in a nearby room who provided hourly overnight entertainment with impressive punctuality and such gusto. Alarm clocks are clearly optional here. I’d perhaps suggest moving the bed away from the wall ...unless that’s part of the package?!
