A great stopover near the airport
Pros:

We often stay in IHG Hotels but this one exceeded our expectations. Modern, light and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay.

Great location, clean and comfortable.
Pros:

Our regular stay in Maroochydore. Great location as not far from river or beach. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and sunshine plaza. Modern clean and quiet. Great beds. Nice shower. Pool on top level with great views. Staff always have a smile. Breakfast buffet included with limited food choices but enough to keep you going and to start the day. Parking is extra $15-$20 with nearby park n go or on site. Street parking 2hr free or free from about 5pm 8am

Cons:

Pillows not firm (not a big deal). Construction in adjoining sites (daylight hours). Smaller rooms but adequate.

Disappointing
Cons:

I booked a twin queen bed room. I was told the rooms were sold out when I checked in, and I was upgraded to a suite. However, the suite contains one queen bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable that I had to sleep on the edge so I would not sink in the middle. It is hard and not even. I paid for twin queen beds. The room I received was not what I booked. As an IHG member, this is very disappointing. Obviously, the hotel did not care.

Disappointed
Cons:

Offered an upgrade room with a balcony. Balcony unusable due to construction. Air-conditioning sett o go off after 20 mins. Shower mouldy. Breakfast food not good. Staff argued with me about what I ordered for dinner.

Staff informed me ALL beds have a PLASTIC mattress protector.

Worst sleeping experience I have had in a hotel in a long time. The king bed was two singles pushed together with NO mattress topper to make the bed ‘feel’ more like a king. No big deal, but still.
What was completely unacceptable was a plastic mattress protector sewn to the mattress. This is a reputable hotel chain that expects ALL of its guests to sleep on top of a plastic sheet! Makes for an incredibly hot and sweaty poor night sleep. Absolutely DISGRACEFUL. Refer to photos attached.
Parents make kids who wet the bed sleep on plastic sheets. This hotel treats all its guests the same as little kiddies who wet the bed. Crap night sleep = crap next day = waste of time leaving home. Holiday inn Maroochydore = waste of money.
